Lotto MAX Winner Has Less than Two Weeks to Bag Half a Million

Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation aims to change people’s lives for the better and give them the chance to do so themselves. There is a Lotto MAX winner who has not claimed their prize nearly a year after they became eligible for it. They have by the end of this month to claim their prize of CA$500,000.

When it comes to lottery gaming and the various ways in which it could improve people’s lives, Lotto MAX is among the preferred gaming offerings. One of the reasons why this is the case is the generous Main prize it usually comes with which could swell all the way up to CA$70 million following weeks of no winning tickets.

All individuals that eventually become eligible for a cash payout with the help of their lottery ticket have the chance to validate their ticket as soon as they find out the good news. This validation takes place at one of the authorized retail locations selling these Lotto Max tickets. It confirms that the ticket is valid and the winning one.

It also notifies the Crown corporation that the winner is ready to collect their prize and they have taken the mandatory steps for doing so. October 1, 2019 was a special date for one Lotto MAX enthusiast, as a ticket purchased in Welland became eligible for half of a Maxmillions prize coming with the regular lottery draw. The prize in its entirety amounts to CA$1,000,000, but there were two tickets eligible for it and one of those was sold in Ontario.

Soon after the end of the draw, Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation announced the good news and specified that the ticket had been purchased in the area ahead of the October 1, 2019 draw. Whoever is in possession of the ticket has a total of 52 weeks to validate it and contact the Crown corporation, in order to receive the CA$500,000 prize.

Almost a year has passed and the winner has not contacted Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation in order to claim their half of the Maxmillions prize. They have until the end of this month to do so. They will have to fill in the back portion of the winning Lotto MAX ticket, sign it, and then call 1-800-387-0098.

One of the secret questions possible winners receive once they call the Crown corporation is to confirm the retail store where they had purchased the ticket. This aims to verify that they are the winner indeed, as such information remains secret until the prize claiming ceremony. Past October 1, 2020 the winner would no longer be eligible for the cash prize.

Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation Spokesman Tony Bitonti said that the Crown corporation hopes that the player will locate their possibly misplaced lottery ticket and claim their half a million. It has the numbers 07, 18, 32, 34, 39, 44, and 46 printed on it and they might even have a special significance for the individual who had purchased it.
