PokerStars Takes Over Union Station for Better Fan Engagement

In order to celebrate the opening home games of the Toronto Raptors and the Toronto Maple Leafs, PokerStars has hosted a special fan event. After the gaming brand inked a collaboration with Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment, the two can now host many and special giveaways, team mascot appearances, and fan interaction events, such as the one recently held at the Union Station.

The partnership between the world-renowned PokerStars and the MLSE was inked earlier this year when FanDuel Sportsbook also announced its collaboration with the sports brand. The former two combined efforts to provide Ontarian sports fans with a powerful combination of entertainment through world-class sports, poker, and casino gaming experiences.

Engaging More Fans

Just recently, PokerStars and MLSE have kicked off a year of epic experiences, events, and rewards for the many sports fans in Ontario. This was done via the PokerStars Casino takeover of Union Station, where bettors can enjoy season-opener activations, special giveaways, and content that will certainly encourage fans to get behind their local teams.

Tom Warren, PokerStars Marketing Director, shared that the company is always looking to advance fan experience, and as a regulated Ontario brand this was the ideal way to do so. The objective is to bring a win-win for players and fans, by making the playing experience more epic and finding new ways to make the watching experience for sports fans better.

Jordan Vader, Senior Vice President, of Global Partnerships, MLSE, commented that the sports brand is excited to partner with the leading poker brand. He said that with the opening of the local iGaming market, the company has looked for operators who share their vision and values such as the ones of responsible gaming within the province.

The partnership between MLSE and Flutter Entertainment, which operates PokerStars, is the first of its kind for the gaming leader in North America. It allows the company to showcase its PokerStars and FanDuel brands to some of the most loyal sports supporters in the province. Ontario is the home of the Maple Leafs, Raptors, Toronto FC, and Toronto Argonauts.

Major Rebrand Complete

In August, FanDuel announced a major rebrand to its TVG Network which is now officially titled FanDuel TV. The new product launched in September, and it is available as a linear cable network on almost every major provider. Meanwhile, its online streaming service will be named FanDuel+ and it will be accessible through Roku, Apple TV, and Amazon Fire.

In addition to that, the company’s More Ways to Win, anchored by ESPN host Lisa Kearney will continue to be live and the new network now has international professional basketball league coverage to expand its horse racing slate. The rebranded network still broadcasts NBL action from Australia, the Chinese Basketball Leagues, and both the German and French leagues.
