Long-Awaited Online Expansion

The New York State legislature has decided to expand its gaming industry by introducing mobile sports betting for the first time. This way gamblers will have another option on their hands, and some of them will not resort to traveling to New Jersey to place their bets. The New York State Gaming Commission has announced which will be the nine gaming operators divided into two bids. The online offering should launch by the next Super Bowl.

Travelling to the Garden State

A poll conducted in the summer of 2021, by EmpireStakes.com found out that 75% of adult New Yorkers admit to having traveled to New Jersey. This is due to the fact that New Jersey offers several online platforms for sports betting, while the Empire State is still working on the launch of its own. According to the survey, over 33% of eligible New Yorkers will be willing to place their wagers online, once the platforms go live in the state.
