Games Global Enters Alberta’s Regulated iGaming Market

Games-Global-continues-North-America-expansion-with-Alberta-market-entryGames Global has entered Alberta’s newly regulated iGaming market after securing registration from the Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Commission (AGLC), extending the supplier’s regulated presence in Canada beyond Ontario.

The company announced its Alberta entry on September 7, 2026, less than two months after the province opened its regulated online gambling market. Alberta launched the framework on July 13, becoming the second Canadian province to establish an open competitive iGaming market after Ontario.

Games Global will now be able to distribute its portfolio to licensed operators active in Alberta. The move adds another regulated Canadian market to the supplier’s North American operations, where it already works with operators in Ontario and regulated US states.

Games Global Brings Slots and Live Casino to Alberta

Players in Alberta will gain access to several established Games Global slot franchises, including Gold Blitz, 12 Masks of Fire and Fishin’ Pots of Gold.

The supplier will also make live casino tables available through OnAir Entertainment, Games Global’s exclusive live casino partner. OnAir Entertainment already distributes live casino products in Canada and will extend those offerings to operators serving the Alberta market.

Games Global operates through a large network of studios and distributes a broad range of casino content. Its existing Canadian operations have primarily focused on Ontario, where the company has already secured regulatory approval and established relationships with operators.

The Alberta registration allows the supplier to extend that model into a second Canadian province while giving licensed operators another source of slots and live dealer games.

Mark MacCombie, Chief Commercial Officer at Games Global, said:

“The opening of Alberta’s iGaming market is an exciting opportunity for Games Global. We have already established a strong presence in Ontario, where our content has proven resonant with players, and we are confident Alberta will build on this momentum.

“North America remains a key strategic focus for us, and we will continue to work closely with both our valued operator partners and our exclusive studios to deliver exceptional gaming experiences to players across the continent’s regulated markets.”

Alberta Becomes Canada’s Second Open iGaming Market

Alberta officially launched its regulated iGaming market on July 13, 2026, following the competitive framework previously introduced in Ontario.

The provincial system uses a dual-track structure involving the AGLC and the Alberta iGaming Corporation (AiGC). The AGLC acts as the regulatory authority, while the AiGC handles commercial agreements involving operators and suppliers.

According to the supplied information, 22 operator sites were live when the Alberta market opened, while more than 50 brands had received licences to operate in the province.

The framework has created a new regulated market for game developers, aggregators and other suppliers seeking to work with Alberta-licensed operators. Games Global’s registration allows the company to participate directly and distribute its content portfolio within the province.

The supplier entered the US market in early 2024 and has since formed partnerships with major operators across regulated states. Its Alberta launch adds another jurisdiction to that North American footprint while building on its existing Canadian business.

Canadian Expansion Continues

Games Global’s move into Alberta follows its earlier work in Ontario, where its studio network, game portfolio and progressive jackpot products are already available.

Alberta’s regulatory structure was designed with similarities to Ontario’s framework, giving suppliers already familiar with Canadian regulatory requirements another regulated market in which to operate.

With its AGLC registration secured, Games Global can now provide both slot content and OnAir Entertainment live casino products to licensed Alberta operators.

The supplier said North America remains an important part of its broader strategy, with continued cooperation planned with operator partners and its studio network across regulated markets on the continent.
