Pragmatic Play has expanded its presence in Canada after receiving certification to offer its casino content in Alberta’s newly regulated iGaming market.
The supplier’s entry comes as Alberta begins its regulated online gaming operations, creating new opportunities for companies providing content to licensed operators in the province. Pragmatic Play joins the market with an established Canadian presence, having already worked with several major brands in Ontario.
Its certified offering in Alberta includes a selection of slot games, featuring recent releases such as Fury of Anubis and Big Bass Blast, along with the Gates of Olympus series. The approval also applies to the company’s live casino products, which include table games and game show formats.
Certified Gaming Content Arrives in Alberta
The Alberta launch adds another regulated Canadian market to Pragmatic Play’s operations. Through its existing technology setup, the supplier allows partners to access its range of products using a single API integration.
The company continues to provide content across multiple gaming categories, with new slot releases added regularly. Pragmatic Play currently develops up to eight slot titles each month while also offering live casino games through its wider portfolio.
The move follows Alberta’s decision to regulate online gaming, opening access for operators and suppliers looking to participate in the province’s developing market.
Supplier Builds on Canadian Expansion
Before entering Alberta, Pragmatic Play had already grown its activity in Ontario through partnerships with tier-one operators, making its games available to players in the region.
Sharon McHugh, Director of PR at Pragmatic Play, said: “Alberta represents an exciting new adventure for regulated iGaming in Canada, and Pragmatic Play is delighted to be among the first suppliers bringing premium entertainment to operators and their players from day one.
“Building on our strong momentum in Ontario, this expansion reinforces Pragmatic Play’s long-term commitment to the Canadian market. We look forward to working closely with partners across the province as the market continues to develop.”
With the Alberta certification now in place, Pragmatic Play will continue working with operators in the province while adding to its activity across regulated markets in North America.
Shifting Course Toward Slots and Live Casino Growth
Pragmatic Play is changing its product focus by ending its sportsbook, bingo, and virtual sports services over the coming months. The company will instead prioritize slots, live casino, crash games, and RNG products after an internal review.
A spokesperson said the decision reflects a focus on areas showing strong performance and long-term potential. Pragmatic Play originally expanded beyond slots with bingo in 2018 and a sportsbook in 2022.
The company plans to support partners during the transition while directing resources toward casino development, live casino studios, localization, and growth in regulated markets.
