Pragmatic Play is adjusting its product strategy to focus on its most profitable areas. Following an internal review, the Gibraltar-based provider will gradually discontinue its sportsbook, bingo, and virtual sports services while prioritizing slots, live casino, crash games, and RNG products. The transition is planned over the coming months, with support offered to partners moving to alternative solutions.
The company initially expanded its portfolio beyond slots, introducing bingo in 2018 and sportsbook in 2022, aiming to provide operators with a broader range of products. Over time, slots established the company’s market presence, followed by live casino, virtual sports, bingo, and sportsbook offerings to meet operators’ demand for multi-vertical suppliers.
A spokesperson confirmed, “Following a strategic review, we have made the decision to focus on our core market-leading verticals – in particular, slots, live casino, crash and RNG. These areas continue to demonstrate strong performance and represent the company’s primary long-term strategic focus. As a result, Pragmatic Play will no longer offer Bingo and Sportsbook products, following a transition period during which we will support our partners as they migrate to alternative platforms. We are working closely with partners to support this transition.”
Management indicated that the decision was not motivated by performance issues with bingo or sportsbook but by the opportunity to strengthen sectors where Pragmatic Play already holds a leadership position. Both products had secured distribution through existing operator relationships, but the strategic assessment concluded that future growth is more promising within casino-focused business units.
Live casino remains a key growth area, particularly in regulated markets with increasing demand for localized content. Chief revenue officer Mark Maislish stated at ICE earlier this year that two additional live casino studios will open, following a 2025 launch in Bogotá, Colombia. Investments continue in live dealer infrastructure and market-specific content, with Latin America identified as a major region for expansion.
Despite the discontinuation of some verticals, Pragmatic Play is maintaining overall growth ambitions. Resources will be reallocated toward new product development, studio network expansion, localization, and regulated market growth. Slots continue to be a core focus, reflecting the company’s enduring market strength.
By concentrating on its primary business areas, Pragmatic Play aims to reinforce its market position in segments historically driving growth, while responding to intensifying competition across the online gambling sector.
