Casino Reports publishes casino reviews, comparison lists, bonus guides and gambling news for Canadian players. This page explains what our scores mean, how our casino lists are put together, where our information comes from and how to tell us about a mistake.
What the casino rating means
Every review shows a casino rating out of 5. It combines two sets of player votes:
- votes from players on LCB.org, a sister site of Casino Reports, and
- votes from Casino Reports readers, who can rate a casino with the stars on its review.
The two are weighted by the number of votes from each source, so a source with more votes counts for more. The review shows how many votes came from each. If only one source has votes, that source sets the rating.
The casino rating reflects what players think. It is not a guarantee of safety, payout speed, winnings or availability in your province.
Editor’s score and breakdown
Some reviews also show an editor’s score: our reviewer’s own verdict, kept separate from the player rating. Where our editors have scored them, the review also shows a breakdown for six areas:
- Games: the size, quality and variety of the game library.
- Bonuses: the value of the offers and how fair their terms are.
- Banking & payouts: payment methods for Canadians, limits and withdrawal times.
- Support: how easy it is to get help, and how good that help is.
- Mobile: how well the casino works on phones and tablets.
- Safety & licensing: licences, ownership transparency and responsible gambling tools.
Not every review has an editor’s score or a breakdown yet. Where they are missing, the casino rating is the score to go by.
How our casino lists are ordered
Our casino lists and tables are ordered by casino rating, highest first. They only include casinos that are open and accept players from your region, as far as our records show. Casinos that have closed, or that we have flagged with a warning or blacklisted, are left out. Some lists are narrowed to a topic, such as casinos with live roulette or casinos that accept a particular payment method.
In Ontario, where online casinos must be registered with iGaming Ontario, our lists only include registered casinos and we do not show bonus offers.
Where our information comes from
Casino details such as licences, game counts, payment methods, deposit limits, withdrawal times and bonus terms come from casino records that we share with LCB.org. Our reviewers add their own research and checks. Records can fall out of date between updates, so always confirm the current details on the casino’s own site before you sign up.
Bonus offers and terms
The bonus amounts in our lists are summaries. Wagering requirements, eligible games, maximum bets, time limits and withdrawal caps can all change what an offer is worth. Select Terms on an offer to see the key conditions we hold, and read the casino’s full terms before you accept a bonus.
Player reviews
Below each casino review you will find comments and ratings from players. Reviews marked with the LCB logo come from LCB.org; the others were posted on Casino Reports. Player reviews are personal opinions, not our verdict.
How we make money
Casino Reports may earn a commission when you sign up at a casino through a link on our site. This does not change the casino rating, which comes from player votes, or the order of our lists, which follows that rating.
