Both of those events will feature two preliminary legs with CA$15,000 purse for each division and CA$20,000 final. Also, both legs and finals need 6 entries to be held.
Woodbine Mohawk Park is a leading harness racing track in North America based in Campbellville, Ontario. It is operated by Woodbine Entertainment Group and on top of world-class racing it also touts a slot machine parlour with over 1,000 machines. Some of its gaming revenue is used to power its horseracing purses.

Last week, the trackās Race Office provided the conditions for two upcoming Pop-Up Series which will kick off on August 10, 2023. Both of the series will contain two preliminary legs with purse money of CA$15,000 for each division and a CA$20,000 final. However, both legs and finals must have a minimum of 6 entries to go.
According to the track, conditions are claiming CA$15,000 for non-winners of CA$35,000 in their careers or not averaging CA$800 per start in 2023. This applies to a minimum of 10 starts, and allowances are included. Leg one is on August 10, 2023, with the second one being held on August 17, 2023, and the final scheduled for August 24, 2023.
The second Pop-Up is for fillies and mares claiming CA$15,000 for non-winners of CA$35,000 lifetime or not averaging CA$800 per race in 2023, with a minimum of 10 starts and included allowances. Again, the first leg will be held on August 10, 2023, with the second one following on August 17, 2023. Meanwhile, the final will be on August 24, 2023 too.
Earlier this year, Woodbine Mohawk Park celebrated its 60th anniversary and it organized numerous festivities for its spectators. During the celebratory weekend, there were cupcakes, strolling entertainment, special drinks, and a race titled the āMohawk 60th Anniversary Paceā. For the occasion, the group also Track Lights Colour Show consisting of synchronized light and audio spectacle.
Collaborating with Private Sportsbooks
In the meantime, the operator, Woodbine Entertainment, is working on debuting betting on horse races via Ontarioās private sportsbooks. This is a long-awaited change, as currently bettors from the province are limited to the two options of HPIbet and Dark Horse Bets, which are tied racetrack operators, as it is the only holder of a federal pari-mutuel betting license.
But the group is putting a lot of effort into integrating horse racing bets on third-party operators by the yearās end. This will allow prominent brands such FanDuel, DraftKings, and others to offer such wagers. Sportsbooks will gain additional betting market in the province and potentially give the operator a new source of horseplayers while also benefiting the industry.
