BCLC Presents the First Ticket to Ride Instant Ticket

British Columbia Lottery Corporation has a special announcement in store for its players, as the Crown agency announced the launch of the Ticket to Ride instant game. This is the first instant ticket game for the lottery industry inspired and based on Days of Wonder’s Ticket to Ride™ board game. It comes with a top prize of CA$50,000 and a wild card bonus.

The newly released game comes in collaboration with Pollard Banknote Limited, which has been a long-term partner to the B.C. lottery. Based in Manitoba, the company is a leading lottery provider, which is famous for its high-quality instant ticket products, licensed games, in-lane ticket options, and sales-driving merchandising solutions from its Schafer Retail Solutions + portfolio.

Bringing the Board Game to Print

B.C. players are in for a treat, as the new Ticket to Ride game comes just in time for the summer season. Tickets cost CA$3 and the game takes players on a trip across the country while also impressing with beautiful design and print. The game also utilizes the popular lucky lines play mechanic while players aim to reveal all four lucky numbers with the same-coloured rail line.

But that is not all, as this instant game also features a wild card bonus, which awards players with an extra chance to have a go at a cash prize. Meanwhile, the original board game rose to fame after it won the honourable Spiel des Jahres prize in 2004 while also generating sales of more than 10 million copies in more than 50 countries around the globe.

Furthermore, the inaugural instant ticket launch will be supported by an integrated and multi-faceted marketing program provided by Pollard Banknote. It includes an engaging social media campaign and the production of a how-to-play video for BCLC’s website, PlayNow. This way players can get familiar with the game before indulging in it.

Erin Neoh, Senior Product Specialist, Instant Games, BCLC shared that the Crown corporation was pleased to provide British Columbians with a new way of experiencing the entertainment of the popular Ticket to Ride™. He added the collaboration with the lottery supplier will deliver many exciting moments for players and it was a tremendous addition to its Scratch & Win portfolio.

Improving Online Content as Well

In addition to adding new lottery concepts for its many players, BCLC is also always looking to improve its online offerings on PlayNow. Previously, the Crown adopted content from Light & Wonder in a deal with ReelPlay. The studio debuted its first title Hypernova Megaways on the lottery’s website in April 2023. Meanwhile, the product dates back to 2018 when it first rose to fame.

A month earlier, in March 2023, the Crown agency announced that it has agreed to a deal with Evolution to integrate the latter’s Mega Ball title. Via the integration, the province became the first client of the provider in North America to integrate the title from a North American studio. The agreement also saw the launch of live table games such as Dream Wheeler on the website.
