After its official entry in Ontario, BetVictor is again expanding its business in the country. This time, the betting operator inked a partnership with the Canadian Elite Basketball League to become its official sports betting partner for the 2023 season. Through the deal, the two parties will provide an enhanced sports wagering experience for CEBL fans through broadcasts and media channels.
CEBL’s 2023 season is set to kick off on May 24, 2023, with the Ottawa BlackJacks facing the defending 2022 Champion Brampton Honey Badgers. According to the league, 20 games will be broadcast on TSN this season. Matches can also be streamed on CEBL+ powered by BetVictor, TSN+ and the CEBL Mobile app for iOS and Android phones.
Providing Bolstered Fan Experience
As a legal operator in Ontario and an official sportsbook for the basketball league, BetVictor will have special offerings for its players. In order to celebrate the start of the season, the brand introduced odds for the 2023 CEBL season and 2023 Championship odds. The operator debuted in the province’s iGaming sector at the end of September 2022 but acquired its license in June.
Mike Morreale, CEO and Co-Founder of CEBL noted that the partnership will provide not only a state-of-the-art gaming experience to fans but will also boost the league’s brand on an international level. He is now looking forward to providing personalized sports betting options to the many basketball fans across the country with all 107 games in the 2023 season.

He believes the partnership will enable an opportunity to connect with local fans and demonstrate the commitment to providing the best sports wagering experience possible.
Mr. Boswell added that the sportsbook offers a wide selection of live in-play betting, parlays and futures markets for fans to enjoy and experience basketball like never before. The representative said the company is committed to responsible play and it is optimistic that the partnership will allow to promote responsible gambling and provide fans with needed tools to do so in a safe manner.
Furthermore, he wished good luck to all ten teams, staff and fans of the CEBL. He elaborated that the bookmaker currently had the Niagara River Lions as leaders with +333 and most likely to be on top at the Championship Weekend. The team is followed by the Brampton Honey Badgers with +400, and then the Edmonton Stingers with +450.
Expansion in Ontario
This partnership will allow BetVictor to further broaden its operations across Ontario as it will gain new exposure. The province’s iGaming market recently marked its first year of operations and it is quite competitive. For the first 12 months, handled CA$35.6 billion in wagers and brought CA$1.4 billion in revenue while also having more than 40 operators running websites.
