This week, the British Columbia Lottery Corporation reported another significant lottery-minted win which was recorded in the Province of B.C. According to the Crown agency, this time a local player has won a prize worth CA$5 million from Saturdayās draw of Lotto 6/49. Now, the winner has up to 52 weeks to contact it and claim it in person.
Lotto 6/49 is a nationwide lottery offering which was reworked back in September 2022 and now comes with two jackpots. It is drawn on Wednesday and Saturday and its players get a chance at the Classic Jackpot worth CA$5 million or the new Gold Ball. The latter has a guaranteed winner thanks to a unique number on each ticket.

BCLCās latest announcement, makes the recent Lotto 6/49 win in the region, the second in the span of a few weeks. The latest win was recorded in the Saturday, April 8, 2023 draw of the popular game, and according to the Crown, the ticket was purchased somewhere in Kelowna. Everyone in the region with a ticket is advised to double-check their numbers.
The currently unknown lottery player was the only one across the country to match all six winning numbers of the total 49 in Saturdayās draw. The winning combination for the round was 08, 13, 16, 27, 31, and 46. As always, the windfall has a 52-week-expiry date and the winner must contact the agency. More information on the winner will be released after they acquire it.
In the meantime, as the Gold Ball jackpot remained intact in the last draw, Canada is once again bracing for an exciting round of Lotto 6/49. The next drawing on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, will come with a jackpot worth CA$62 million. If the Gold Ball Draw finds a winner of the major prize, then the winner will have a chance to take home either CA$1 million or up to CA$68 million.

There were more than 100 million winning tickets sold at provincial retailers or online on PlayNow.com. Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley regions got the largest portion of the total prize pool last year.
