Latest reports from Canada confirm that on Tuesday, January 4, 2022, the Lotto Max draw did not determine a winner for the big prize. The windfall stood at CA$43 million, however, no purchased ticket from the country’s ten provinces and three territories managed to perfectly match the seven winning numbers from Tuesday. Players are now preparing for the next draw.
Lotto Max is one of the most popular lottery games in Canada, as it can offer a main prize of the size of the staggering CA$70,000,000. Once it reaches CA$50,000,000, its draw also offers several Maxmillion prizes, which are worth exactly CA$1 million. In the jackpot and Maxmillion remain unclaimed they grow bigger in numbers for the next round.
No Big Winners on Tuesday
As no one from the country managed to get their hands on the Lotto Max grand prize, the jackpot will now rise to the whooping CA$50,000,000. The next draw is today, January 7, 2022, and tickets can be acquired both at land-based retail locations or online depending on one’s locations via the province’s officially regulated platforms.
Since the main prize passes the CA$50-million-mark threshold in the next round, this week’s second draw will also come with two Maxmillion prizes worth CA$1,000,000 apiece. According to the OLG, the chances of winning the jackpot are 1 in 33,294,800, and the chances of snatching one of the Maxmillion prizes are also similar. Winners also have 52 weeks to claim their winnings, so be sure to keep your tickets safe.
Latest B.C. Winner
This week, the British Columbia Lottery Corporation announced that it has one more big winner of a Lotto Max prize. The name of the lucky ticket holder is Johanna Rossetto and she is from Nanaimo. After selecting the Extra option on her ticket for the October 29 2021 draw, she is now the proud owner of a CA$500,000 prize.
Ms. Rossetto explained that she was at home with her husband when she discovered the windfall and they immediately went to a local grocery store for confirmation. The winner also commented that with the prize she plans on celebrating with a huge shopping spree, going on a trip, buying a brand-new car, and of course helping out her family financially.
Previous B.C. Payouts
Just in time for Christmas, Binxiao Qin has also found himself significantly richer, as the Metro Vancouver man won CA$1,000,000 from Lotto Max. His story is an interesting one, as he only purchased his life-changing ticket since his coworkers were buying ones, and when they won CA$1 he remembered to check his own. Only to find out that he has won a Maxmillion prize.
Ms. Rossetto and Mr. Qin are just a small portion of the lottery winners in B.C. as the BCLC has rewarded over CA$891 million in cash prizes for 2021 in the province. The Crown corporation managed to sell more than 102 million winning tickets for last year. With the largest prize for the calendar year going to Christine Lauzon’s one, as she snatched CA$70,000,000 from a September 28 Lotto Max draw.
