Great Canadian Gaming Galvanizes Gambling across Atlantic Canada since 2005

Great Canadian Gaming is the largest casino operator in Canada with substantial influence across the provinces and plans for future expansion. Atlantic Canada is among the regions where the gaming force has also introduced its premium influence with several casino locations.

This ongoing operation has shown results and solidified the casino operator as a leading one in the region. The year 2005 was a special one for the casino developer, as it saw interest beyond British Columbia.

Great Canadian Gaming wanted to reach its casino patrons wherever they are, which prompted expansion to other provinces. Relying on players traveling to its gaming venues in Richmond, Dawson Creek was not enough for the casino operator and its efforts were focused eastwards.

Nova Scotia Experiences Premium Gaming

This is when Great Canadian Gaming launched its first wave of expansion across Canada and purchased Casino Nova Scotia Sydney, as well as Casino Nova Scotia Halifax. The two locations have been in operation before this acquisition, so the casino operator brought a change of management and a breath of fresh air to the casino locations.

Casino Nova Scotia Halifax initially launched operation in June 1995 adjacent to Sheraton Hotel Halifax. At the turn of the century, the casino venue bid farewell to its temporary location and relocated to its independent building at the waterfront.

Caesars Entertainment was the casino developer overseeing operation in the years leading up to the acquisition. Around this time, Sheraton Hotel Halifax was also sold to Marriott Corporation. The Halifax casino venue offers some 650 slot machines sprinkled across its gaming floor, as well as table games elevating the experience. It is linked to Marriott Halifax Harbourfront.

This is the largest casino venue in the region, making it an even more desirable spot for people from near and far. Casino Nova Scotia Sydney was acquired with the very same wave of expansion and marked 2005 as a memorable year.

Great Canadian Gaming Expansion Continues

The Sydney casino location is a rather smaller one when compared to the Halifax operation. This is evident by the smaller number of slots machines, which reaches 275 devices. It also offers poker action for everyone interested in showcasing their skills and winning big in live tournaments.

The casino venue also features more family-friendly offerings, such as the All Star Grille dining area, as well as live performances taking place at the Ceilidh Room.

The third location in Atlantic Canada is Casino New/Nouveau Brunswick located in the Magnetic Hill Area of Moncton. This is the newest location in the area, which launched operation in 2010. Work on its construction commenced in July 2008. The casino developer that oversaw operation over the five years leading up to 2015 was Sonco Gaming New Brunswick Limited Partnership.

The project cost some US$90-million whereas the sale to Great Canadian Gaming managed to reach US$95 million. Ever since then the casino has undergone a rebranding and it now features some 600 slot machines located at its casino floor. In addition to those, there are some 30 table games, for players willing to elevate their experience on site.

Among the more family-friendly offerings, there are dining and bar options available. The area also features accommodation offered by the Four Diamond Hotel, as well as live performances at the Molson Canadian Event C
