“Ladies First” Poker Event to Debut During 2017 Heartland Poker Tour Edition

A poker event, specially created for ladies seems to appear on the horizon for the very first time under the name “Ladies First”. The unique event is to be held as part of the Heartland Poker Tour, which is set to kick off on 24th August at Ameristar East Chicago.

The ladies event is to be among the surprises, which the organizers of the tournament have up their sleeves for their audience. The ladies’ event will take place on 27th August, featuring a buy-in of $150.

Korey Stewart, Marketing Manager for the Heartland Poker Tour explained that this is a unique event, which is to take place for the first time, since the 12-year presence of the Heartland Poker Tour on the poker scene. Stewart placed hopes that the event will achieve great success. The event aims to encourage all the ladies, who are also poker fans to show that women can be as good in poker as men.

The tournament will continue up to 4th September, when the name of the champion will be announced. The gathering point for the poker enthusiasts, who would like to give it a shot is Ameristar East Chicago, which became a popular poker venue in the recent years, playing host to many big poker tournaments.

Stewart further explained that for years, the tournament has become a must stop for all the poker fans in the country. The reason is that the tournament features solid prize money, as well as various buy-ins in order to meet every player’s needs and bankroll. Just a brief look at the tournament’s history can prove this – in 2014, Heartland Poker Tour distributed more than $8 million in prize money.

What is more is that the tournament includes many different events, so that both amateurs and poker professionals can find the right table for them. The history of the Heartland Poker Tour remembers cases, in which amateur players manage to climb the ladder of success and become champions.

For those wondering, the first event to take place is $350 Monster Stack. However, it is the Main Event, which every aspiring poker player is impatiently expecting. The statistic shows that the Main Event attracted the attention of 526 players for the last year, who were all competing for a fair chunk of the healthy prize pool, which topped the significant amount of $757,440. Despite the brilliant game of all the players, it was Rob Wazwaz, who pocketed the first prize of $173,385.

Poker has become among the most popular pastimes, attracting more and more people worldwide to give it a try. Long gone are the days when gambling was a taboo. Nowadays, it seems that poker wins the hearts of both men and women. Heartland Poker Tour is well-aware of that fact. Thus, the upcoming Heartland Poker Tour edition places women under the spotlight in the first-of-its-kind ladies event.
