As per recent reports emerging from Ontario, Fallsview Casino Resort in Niagara Falls and Casino Rama in Orillia are tied for the most searched land-based gaming properties in the province. The research was compiled with data from ahrefs.com and Google Trends, hence being able to rank 30 retail casinos by search volume online in the past twelve months.
The Niagara Falls casino is located at 6380 Fallsview Blvd and is owned by Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation and operated by Mohegan Gaming and Entertainment. Meanwhile, Casino Rama at 5899 Rama Rd, Orillia, is owned Chippewas of Rama First Nation and OLG. Its day-to-day gambling operations have been entrusted to Gateway Casinos & Entertainment.
Breaking Down the Top 10 Gambling Destinations
The study relied on data from ahrefs.com to rank the 30 brick-and-mortar gaming amenities by search volume in the last 12 months. It also utilized data from Google Trends to rank the top 10 sites by search volume in the past 90 days. Unsurprisingly, Fallsview Casino and Casino Rama share the first spot, each with a volume of 13 in Google searches.
The third spot went to Pickering Casino Resort on 888 Durham Live Ave, Pickering, with a Google search volume of seven. The property is relatively new as it opened its doors in July 2021. Caesars Windsor Casino was next in line with a search volume of five. In fifth came Casino Niagara Resort, which is Fallsview’s counterpart in Niagara Falls with a search volume of four.
Next on the ranking list was Rideau Carleton Casino based in Ottawa with a search volume of three, followed by Great Blue Hero Casino in Port Perry and Casino Ajax which shared the number seven spot with a search volume of two. The top ten was completed by Shorelines Casino Thousand Island with one, and Starlight Casino Point Edward with less than one.
The team behind the research praised the two leaders in the least, saying that the Niagara Falls casino is about the location. It also noted that the casino hotel impresses with a panoramic view of the nearby and widely popular falls. While also praising Casino Rama for its 5,000-seat entertainment venue, and more than 1,700 slots and 50 live table games.
Toronto’s Newest Casino Misses Out on Top 10
Interestingly enough, the province’s newest gaming property, Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto did not make its way into the top 10. This could be because Canada’s largest casino resort only opened its doors in June 2023 and it is yet to accumulate a large player base. Run by Great Canadian Entertainment, the property will have its grand opening on May 3, 2024.
It boasts a gaming floor of 328,000 square feet, equipped with 4,800 slot machines, 145 live table games, VIP rooms and sports betting terminals. In November last year, the venue announced the launch of its state-of-the-art poker room. The new amenity is open to patrons seven days a week and offers 30 tables while being located on a private floor.
