Gateway Casinos Innisfil Helps with the Installation of AED

Gateway Casinos Innisfil is once again proving to be a valuable community partner to the City of Innisfil. Thanks to a generous donation from the gaming establishment, the Innisfil Recreational Complex has now installed an automated external defibrillator. The new device will potentially save people who suffer from sudden cardiac arrests.

Automated external defibrillators are portable devices which in the case of sudden cardiac arrest can provide life-saving treatment to individuals. The equipment was provided by the Chase McEachern Memorial Fund via a hefty donation from the local ā€“ Gateway Casinos Innisfil. The new device is put at the Innisfil Recreational Complex soccer fields.

Providing Support in Case of Emergency

Mayor Lynn Dollin thanked the Chase McEachern Memorial Fund and casino, as now there is a life-preserving tool right at the busy soccer pitches. She remarked that the quick use of an AED would significantly increase the chances of survival and having an accessible one would ensure the safety of the athletes and family members who watch them play.

The local casino is operated by Gateway Casinos and Entertainment, and the companyā€™s Rob Mitchell, director of communications and public affairs said the operator is pleased to take part in the purchase of an AED. Mr. Mitchell also commented that such devices are tremendous life-saving tools that anyone can successfully use to save someoneā€™s life.

The Chase McEachern Memorial Fund remains committed to placing AEDs in public areas across the country and enabling residents to use the devices in cases of cardiac emergencies. The organization was established in honour of Chase McEachern who collapsed at school from cardiac arrest in 2006 and sadly passed away. Its mission is to protect people from suffering the same fate.

John McEachern, Chaseā€™s father and board member of the Chase McEachern Memorial Fund said that he is honoured to continue his sonā€™s desire to place AEDs in all public spaces. He noted AEDs are easy to use and extremely effective, however, he remarked that they need to be available where people play and gather, as in cases of cardiac arrests every minute is important.

Helping More Ontario Communities

In the meantime, gambling contribution from another Gateway Casinos & Entertainment casino will help for the creation of a new community health centre and after-hours clinic in Wasaga Beach. Thanks to proceeds from Playtime Casino Wasaga Beach, the new facility will also come with a fully equipped, turnkey, medical office and it will be developed with the Georgian Bay Family Health Organization.

The leading land-based operator of gaming properties is a major player in Ontarioā€™s economy, and it recently inked a new affiliate marketing partnership with the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation. Via this collaboration, the company will promote OLGā€™s online casino and sports betting services on OLG.ca to guests of its 14 casinos in Ontario.
