Sask. Local Takes Home CA$900K from VLT Play

The Western Canada Lottery Corporation informs via a new press release that yet another player from the Western provinces has won big by playing on its video lottery terminals. This time, the lucky individual is an Aberdeen, Saskatchewan man who claimed a CA$900k grand jackpot on a VLT at Soul Wok.

It should be explained that the WCLC is a non-profit organization licensed to manage, conduct and operate lottery and gaming-related activities across Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Besides gaming options, the Crown also makes sure that its offerings are delivered in a responsible play, while also providing problem gambling protections and resources for its players.

WCLC Reveals Another Big Winner

In its latest new release, WCLC announced that Chris Dieno from Aberdeen, Saskatchewan has won the impressive grand jackpot of CA$932,055.39. Speaking while getting his cheque from the Crown agency, Mr. Dieno said that it all happened so fast. He shared that he did not think that he had won anything until all the lights started flashing and he could not believe his eyes.

Now after coming into possession of his winnings of close to CA$1 million, the Aberdeen man said that he thought of some ways of spending it. One of the first things he plans on doing is purchasing a new car for his girlfriend. In addition to that, he said the windfall will enable him to work less and spend more time with his close ones.

Lastly, he said that the prize money will help improve the lives of all his family members. The Crown corporation reported that there have been 33 Vault Breaker jackpot activations like this one since 2017 won in Western Canada. All of these wins are accounting for over CA$31 million in payouts. With certainly more on the way in the future.

Past Winners from the Province

As mentioned, over the last few years, players in Saskatchewan have won some amazing prizes by playing at VLTs in the province. One of those many winners, Scott Wheatley from Regina who back in May 2022 claimed his cheque worth more than CA$1 million from Vault Breaker. He scored the win earlier that month at Regina’s Four Seasons Palace.

In addition to that, the province also witnessed Jennifer Fafard from Humboldt take home a massive prize from a VLT play. Her winning dates back to July 3, 2022, and she also triggered a Vault Breaker jackpot, but this time worth CA$660,501. She did it by playing the game at Pioneer Hotel and claimed her cheque a week later.
