Casino Niagara Marks Its Quarter-Century Anniversary

This week, marks a special occasion for Casino Niagara which is based in Niagara Falls in Ontario, as the premium gaming amenity celebrates 25 years of operations. During its 25 years of existence in the province, the casino has transformed into a top gaming spot for many locals and tourists and has welcomed more than 100 million visitors each year.

The casino first opened its doors on December 9, 1996, and ever since then it has been a massive hit among locals and tourists for its gaming amenities or resort as a whole. Its success has come as great news for the City of Niagara Falls as the property contributes million of gaming revenue to the coffers along with providing numerous job positions.

Extremely Proud

In a new press release from the operator of the casino, Niagara Casinos, the President of the company, Richard Taylor, shared a few words on the special occasion. He says that the operator is extremely proud to reach and celebrate this milestone anniversary, with the local community. Mr. Taylor expressed sincere appreciation to everyone involved for their loyal support of the property for making it possible.

In the statement, the company claims that it continues to give back to the community, as since 1996 via the casino it has helped over 170 charity organizations and non-profits in the region. Annually, through its community programs, the casino manages to donate approximately CA$1.24 million to local partners such as United Way Niagara, Big Brothers & Big Sisters, Gillian’s Place, Project S.H.A.R.E, The Village of Hope, Hospice Niagara, and even more.

Through the years, the casino has experienced numerous upgrades such as a CA$7 million investment in 2017 and CA$12 million renovations in 2005. The President has also said that the last year’s unprecedented events have been a challenge, and the team has worked tirelessly in order to prepare the property for a safe reopening in July this year.

Now, in order to celebrate its quarter-century of operations in Niagara Falls, the gaming property will include a special menu at LEV2L. The offering will go into effect on December 8, 2021, and it will be available through December 11, 2021. In addition to that, the casino will also be illuminated in green and gold colors for three days thanks to a collaboration with Niagara Falls Illumination Board.

Back to Work

Due to the unprecedented situation and related health and safety concerns, Niagara Casinos’ two properties in Niagara Falls were closed down in March 2020. However, in July, as Ontario entered Stage 3 of the provincial business reopening plan Casino Niagara and Fallsview Casino Resort were allowed to reopen safely on July 23, at 10 a.m.

However, with the reopening of both properties, they were required to work under limited player capacity and an incomplete set of services. Back then visitors were limited to only 50% of the total volume, and card games were suspended. It was later at the end of August when Casino Niagara was permitted to renew table games, which were available from noon to 4 a.m. on a daily basis.
