CA$14m Playtime Casino Mission Promises Jobs, Family-Friendly Offerings

Gateway Casinos & Entertainment’s expansion across British Columbia continues with its next phase, as the casino operator confirmed. Mission is in for a treat, as the existing Chances Mission is about to go through a relocation and rebranding. Playtime Casino Mission would invite locals for a family-friendly and gaming experience at a brand new complex overseen by the leading operator.

Gateway Casinos confirmed that the investment in the new gaming project would amount to some CA$14 million, ranking Playtime Casino Mission among the smaller casino complexes overseen by it. At the moment, Mission has its Chances Mission gaming hall also offering a comparatively smaller venue. This week saw the Mission Regional Chamber of Commerce luncheon inviting parties for a conversation on the subject.

Expansion and Relocation

British Columbia Lottery Corporation had a frank conversation with Gateway Casinos and local officials on the future gaming location. Chances Mission offers as many as 15,000 square feet of gambling opportunities, which does not promote larger gatherings and more patrons entering the gaming hall. In addition to that, the current number of employees employed by Chances Mission reaches 38 individuals.

A new gambling hall could offer job opportunities for a larger number of locals, thus boosting the local job market. The larger venue also means more slot machines ready to shower players with tons of cash. Such an expansion calls for relocation, as to make the project possible and lucrative. The new address of Playtime Casino Mission would be at Wren Street and Lougheed Highway, part of the Outlook Village Development.

Gateway Casinos has decided that the Playtime brand is most appropriate for the host community, as it is a more casual one that focuses on its family-friendly offerings, as well as the gaming ones available on its premises. The new construction site would make it possible for the casino operator to bring more gaming opportunities and a better dining experience to the locals.

MATCH Eatery and Public House Comes to Mission

Playtime Casino Mission is about to span over 30,000 square feet of space, an expansion that would double its existing property. It will also increase the number of employees on it, swelling it to 100 people. Gateway Casinos wanted to see locals trust the brand and lay all problem gambling concerns to rest. Playtime is known as the casino brand closer to people and balancing gaming activities with quality time spent with one’s close people.

The new location would introduce locals to the Buffet and MATCH Eatery and Public House, Gateway’s signature dining offerings. The latter would also accommodate live performances and stand-up comedy shows. For the time being, gaming opportunities on site have not been set in stone, meaning that it might feature slot machines and table games, or solely slot machines.

It is going to be the second Playtime Casino in British Columbia. Playtime Casino Kelowna went through a rebranding early in 2018, transforming it from Lake City Casino. The CA$3.6 million investment resulted in the construction of two restaurants, signature for the casino operator, as well as some changes to the casino floor. Following the casino expansion, it employed 270 individuals.
