CA$21M Jackpot Goes to Ontario, Confirms OLG

The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation has recently announced that last week’s multi-million jackpot from Lotto 6/49 has been won by a local ticket holder. According to reports from the Crown agency, the CA$21 million prize has gone to one lucky player, who resides in Kawartha Lakes. The winner now has 52 weeks to claim their hefty windfall.

Lotto 6/49 is a popular game among Canadian fans of lottery offerings, and it is drawn twice every week. One of the draws in on Wednesdays and the other is on Saturdays. Every year Ontarians win hundreds of millions of Canadian dollars in cash prizes, whether it is one of the standard prizes, or Guaranteed CA$1 million prize, which is awarded with every round.

Looking for the Big Winner

The Crown corporation confirmed that the February 26, 2022 draw has finally found the winner for the Lotto 6/49 jackpot. The main prize is worth CA$21,593,703.80 and the fortunate ticket holder is located somewhere in Kawartha Lakes, Ontario. The Crown advises the winner to contact them by calling 1-800-387-0098 to book an appointment at an OLG centre for the claiming of the prize.

In addition to that, the OLG informed that there are still some unclaimed prizes from previous lottery draws. The agency revealed that there was one Encore Lotto Max ticket from April 30, 2021, worth over CA$1,000,000 and it was won by someone from Welland. There is also a Lotto 6/49 ticket worth CA$57,065.30 which was sold in Mississauga and expires at the end of May 2022.

Also, the Crown organization revealed that Peter Stefanovic from Brantford has won CA$2 million from Instant CA$2 Million Extreme. After claiming his cheque, the 60-year-old retiree shared that he had won the massive prize after first winning CA$40 from playing the game, and using it on the ticket that eventually brought him the CA$2 million.

Mr. Stefanovic also has revealed that he bought the ticket at Esso on King George Road in Brantford. With the hefty windfall, he plans to share it with his children and take some time to make other decisions. He now considering purchasing a brand-new truck for himself and a new set of golf clubs as a treat to himself.

More Winners

Most recently, the OLG has also paid out a CA$22,000,000 jackpot from the Lotto Max game and the winner is Gary Myles from Oakville, Ontario. His ticket was drawn as the winning one in a January draw of the game, and the man working in IT shared that he discovered about the hefty winning on his wife’s birthday, and said that it was a tremendous birthday gift for both.

This has not been the only major Lotto Max winning in recent weeks, as in the middle of February, the Western Canada Lottery Corporation announced that someone from Saskatchewan has won the amazing CA$20 million. The win is from the February 15, 2022 draw, and the winning combination was 19, 26, 28, 36, 40, 42, 48, and 6 as a bonus number. The winner is advised to contact the agency and discuss when they will be able to claim it.
