Niagara Casino Plans Event Centre’s Grand Opening

Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort is planning something special for the grand opening of its brand-new CA$130-million entertainment centre. The gaming property has recently shared some of its plans for the long-awaited opening of its new 5,000-seat concert hall and the first show at the venue will be coming in April 2022.

The casino’s new entertainment facility has been awaiting its debut for quite some time as after its completion the casino was shut down with the unprecedented situation 2020. Despite, the reopening of the property, live shows did not return until this month. Meanwhile, the casino has restarted its 1,500-seat Avalon Theatre for the annual Christmas show.

Coming This April

In an interview on Tuesday, President of Niagara Casinos Richard Taylor shared that the company is working on the new centre’s grand opening. He explained that the casino is planning a splashier opening event to kick off operations at the facility. However, he refused to provide concrete dates or names as everything is currently dependable on the unprecedented situation.

According to the schedule, the first show at the venue is a show from singer Joey Yung, and the Cantopop star is scheduled to perform on April 24, 2021. Then on May 5, the facility is set to welcome comic Larry the Cable Guy on state, closely followed by classic rock stars ZZ Top and Cheap Trick. Paul Anka, comedian Iliza Shlesinger, REO Speedwagon, and Zuhcchero are also scheduled to perform this year.

The President believes that the ground opening will not be before Joey Yung’s concert, but he says that the company will most probably host some smaller types of shows. He says that after staff and equipment are tested out on softer shows, then the casino is going to have a big opening ceremony, that the whole community can get behind and enjoy together.
