Five Quebec Tickets Split CA$50-Million Lotto Max Prize

Quebec has officially learned the names of its latest lottery millionaires after Loto-Québec informed that the Lotto Max jackpot will be split between five ticket holders. The stunning prize of CA$50,000,000 from the November 12 draw has been claimed by six Capitale-Nationale residents who will share the prize in five slices.

The winners who do not play the lottery together or even know each other managed to win a hefty bag due to purchasing Formule groupe ticket from a retailer. The five winning tickets were acquired at the lotto kiosk at Galeries de la Capitale. Now, four CA$10 million prizes will go to four ticket holders, and the last one will be shared between two individuals who player together.

Now Claimed

The six winners met for the first time after they arrived at the Crown corporation’s relocated prize office in Quebec City and claimed their CA$10,000,000 prizes. Isabelle Jean, Executive Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer of Lotteries at the Crown, stated that the corporation could not have asked for a better inauguration of its new office with the six new millionaires.

The name of the first winner is Réjean Bernier and he was at home when he discovered that he had won such a hefty prize. He shared that he checked the ticket several times to make sure that he had the right numbers and he was running back and forth from joy at home. The winner plans on sharing his portion of the prize with his close ones and purchasing a new house.

Danielle Côté and Denis Tremblay are the holders of one of the winning tickets, and they have been playing the lottery together for a long time. Now with the prize, the retirees plan to make some home renovations and share it with family. Jean Westley Levesque’s ticket also brought him a hefty prize, and when checking it at a self-service checker, he also could not believe his own eyes.

Gilles Pelletier who is also a regular lottery player has also won CA$10,000,000. After finding out about his pleasant prize, he called his children about their wildest Christmas wishes. He plans to invest some of the money, and buy a car and a trailer for traveling. The fifth winner’s name is Jean-Claude Turcotte also intends on sharing the grand prize with his loved ones.

More Lotto Max Millionaires

Recently, the Lotto Max game has helped in creating several multimillionaires from its draws. Matthew Poppels from Saskatoon has been one of the lucky ones, as he snatched a jackpot worth CA$55,000,000 from the October 19 draw. This was the second-largest lottery win in the history of Saskatchewan and the winner did not hesitate as he claimed his prize only eight days after the draw.

One More Major Win

Manitoba has also witnessed a major lottery win, as Jerry Knott, from Wasagamack is now CA$20 million richer after participating in Lotto Max. After arriving at a Manitoba Liquor and Lotteries office to claim his prize, Mr. Knott revealed that he discovered his winning while he was in Winnipeg for his daughter’s wedding. Meaning that the winner had two major occasions to celebrate.
