CA$1m The Queen’s Plate Tickets Pre-Sale Starts

Woodbine Entertainment is ready to welcome fans of live horse racing and in-person wagering, to the largest horse racing event of the summer. This year is about to see the 162nd edition of the OLG Triple Crown of Thoroughbred Racing. July 28 is pinpointed as the date when the pre-sale of tickets for The Queen’s Plate will commence.

For the general public, tickets will go on sale officially on July 30, this Friday. People interested in reserving their spots are advised to act quickly and purchase their tickets, as those sell out quickly. August 22 is about to see the official launch of the 162nd running of The Queen’s Plate, making Woodbine Racetrack the place to be.

If you are yearning for a day at the races and the thrill of this traditional live event, prepare for the riveting experiences next month. Horse racing fans are going to make a day of it and spend some quality time with their loved ones or the entire family on the horse racetrack. This day is set to bring live entertainment on the premises of Woodbine Racetrack, all sorts of dining experiences, as well as Thoroughbred racing.

The purse this race comes with amounts to CA$1,000,000 and it welcomes three-year-old Thoroughbred horses only. Even though this and the previous year there was a limit on the number of spectators welcomed on that special Sunday, Woodbine Entertainment will still bring premium racing and quality entertainment close to them. This event is renowned for being North America’s oldest running horse race.

Jim Lawson, Chief Executive Officer of Woodbine Entertainment, recently said that the leader is ready to welcome everyone interested in in-person attendance. Along with the races, individuals will also get the chance to experience fine dining with various theme and seating options. There is the Post Parade one, the Patio at Champions, the Trackside Experience on the apron, the grandstand seats, among others.

Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation is once again ready to team up with Woodbine Entertainment on this special occasion. The corporation will once again be a sponsor of the Canadian Triple Crown of Thoroughbred Racing. The first live race is in August, whereas the second one – the Prince of Wales Stakes, is set to take place on September 14. Traditions must be respected, which is why the third jewel will also happen following enough training and preparation.

The Breeders’ Stakes is set to transform October 3 into a special day for Thoroughbred horse racing fans. Lori Sullivan, OLG Chief Land-Based Gaming and Business Development Officer, is happy to support the Canadian Triple Crown once again, as horse racing has a strong foundation within the province of Ontario. Projections are that this year’s edition will attract more spectators and new enthusiasts.

The first days of 2021, brought rumors from an anonymous source that the first event could be postponed to late August. The Queen’s Plate usually takes place over the last days of June, but this year saw a four-week delay. This is how the remaining two races of the Crown were also postponed.
