Inaugural Turf Trinity Transforms Belmont Park and Saratoga Race Course

Horse races are among the congregations of people that evoke fond memories and attract the entire family for a day out. New York has been preparing for this summer, as it brings the inaugural edition of the Turf Trinity racing that is shaped after the renowned Canadian Triple Crown. July saw the first of three races that transformed Belmont Park and kicked off the action of the three-legged racing bonanza.

Turf Trinity was initially announced at the beginning of this year, giving all enthusiasts enough time to learn more about the races and get excited about the live action that was projected to transform two horse racetracks.

Those are Belmont Park and Saratoga Race Course, both renowned for their live races and years of iconic races. The New York Racing Association made it clear that this new series is inspired by the Canadian Triple Crown also in progress over the summer.

Turf Trinity Commences

For the first time ever, the two locations were ready to welcome the brand-new series along with the Turf Tiara one. According to the schedule issued, July 6 transformed Belmont Park with the US$1-million G1 Belmont Derby. This race utilized the 1 1/4-mile turf track and set the tone for the remaining live events part of the summer excitement.

As many as 14 three-year-old horses were part of the first race of the inaugural Turf Trinity. Renowned horses to the likes of Digital Age, Demarchelier, Standard Deviation, and Rockemperor were part of the race. Each and every one of them have notable achievements behind their back and pinpointing a favorite was a tough task.

The winner ended up being Henley’s Joy, defeating all rivals on its way. This Saturday also brought the US$750,000 G1 Belmont Oaks race part of the Turf Tiara, another 1 Ā¼ miles racetrack. This raceā€™s first place was claimed by Concrete Rose and her trainer Rusty Arnold. From here on out, four more races are about to take place in the next two months.

Saratoga Race Course Braces

August is going to bring the second leg of the inaugural Turf Trinity, this time taking action to the Saratoga Race Course. Turf Tiara is also projected to see its second race. August 4 would bring the US$1-million Saratoga Derby with its 1 3/16 turf track ready to see a stellar performance by all three-year-old horses.

Two days earlier, on August 2, Saratoga Race Course would welcome the US$750,000 Saratoga Oaks race. This race will also utilize the 1 3/16 turf track and present the second leg of the Turf Tiara series. Just like the Canadian Triple Crown, the two racing series use two racetracks to the best of their abilities.

The month of September is going to bring the last two of the races, once again taking action back to Belmont Park. September 7 is going to greenlight US$1-million Jockey Club Derby that would gather all rivals at the 1 Ā½ miles turf track at Belmont Park. The same day is also about to bring Turf Tiaraā€™s US$750,000 Jockey Club Oaks.
