Vancouver’s long-awaited Parq casino finally opened its doors on 29th September with a grandiose ceremonial roll of the dice on the casino floor. Parq Vancouver urban casino resort is located not far from BC Place Stadium in downtown Vancouver, where the casino celebrated its opening. The event coincided with 2 other major events, which took place almost at the same time and at the same place. The “cluster” of events resulted in a mammoth number of people, who overcrowded the stadium. Latecomers were even denied access as the stadium was bursting at the seams.

The luxurious private entertainment establishment Parq swung doors open on Friday last week, as anticipated. The $700-million casino resort celebrated a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday morning. City officials and executives gathered together to share the culmination of a lot of hard work, which is to revive Vancouver’s economy and tourism sector. Many industry experts explained that this is a watershed moment in the development of the city.

The ceremonial rolling of the dice, which was the most long-anticipated part of the program happened on Friday night. Prior to the grand opening, the organizers of the event promised one unforgettable experience with many surprises. At present, it can be said that they kept their word, filling BC Place Stadium with people. Besides the grand opening of the casino resort, there were 2 other events, including Coldplay’s concert and the American country singer Miranda Lambert’s concert. Coldplay’s concert, which started at 6:45 pm, drew the attention of nearly 40,000 fans. Mere minutes later, Miranda Lambert appeared on the stage at Rogers Arena, while the resort was slated to officially open its doors to the public at 11 pm local time on the west side of BC Place.

Coming as no surprise, the stadium was jammed with people and some latecomers were even denied access. Kevan O’Brien was among the attendees, who missed the grand opening of the casino resort. He commented that the crowds were flowing from Coldplay’s concert, which further contributed to the bustle. Shortly after the ceremony started, the Vancouver Fire Department blocked the stadium’s main Beatty Street entrance.
