Casino Woodbine Well Positioned for Expansion, City of Toronto

Casino Woodbine is about to see its family-friendly factor bolstered, as it eyes the construction of a new child care zone. The City of Toronto revealed that the gaming expansion on its premises is on track to include a special center for the children of both casino workers and people visiting offerings available on site. The funds for its construction are guaranteed now.

It could be recalled that 2018 saw the Rexdale-Casino Woodbine Community Benefits Agreement being inked, spelling a great future for the casino location adjacent to one of the largest racetracks in Ontario ā€“ Woodbine Racetrack. This special agreement saw One Toronto Gaming define precisely the improvement it would bring local communities through the gamin expansion projected. Great Canadian Gaming and Brookfield Business Partners L.P. oversee the gaming venue.

Expansion to Come

Adults need a place to leave their kids for some time while they are running errands or simply going to work. The new center welcoming kids would be open for both residents of the casino host community and the employees of Casino Woodbine. Up until this point investment in the project amounts to some CA$5 million provided by the One Toronto Gaming partnership.

As for the address of the upcoming child care center, it could be built in the immediate vicinity of the casino venue, as to make it convenient for Casino Woodbine staff members. Its official location would be issued publicly in the upcoming months. What is essential in this situation is the consultation that would take place, involving the community, as well as shareholders directly affected by the move.

Locals would have the chance to send their kids there if they are between the ages of 0 to 4 Ā½. The expansion including gambling offerings at Woodbine Racetrack was in the works for quite some time, eventually greenlighted in the spring of 2018. Projections of CA$30 million in gaming revenue allocations were highlighted.

CA$30m Allocations to City Coffers

Up until that point, the City of Toronto was bagging some CA$16 million on an annual basis, relying solely on racing operation on site. Projections issued back then were that once the casino venue is completed in 2022, Woodbine Entertainment would be able to amass allocations reaching CA$30 million. The new daycare facility is going to feature extended work hours, as to make it a convenient one for the shifts at Casino Woodbine.

Expansion of the Woodbine Racetrack is about to include a hotel, retail locations, and entertainment venues. The casino would be part of a large-scale complex that would have restaurants, shops, and office space. Casino expansion is about to make the venue even more exciting with some 5,000 slot machines and virtual table games. For the first time, it would offer patrons 300 live dealer tables.

Over the past two years, the casino location has hired some 1,150 individuals ahead of the gaming expansion, as to ensure that Casino Woodbine is not understaffed and it would be ready to meet the high expectations of its casino patrons down the road. Now the local community is anticipating more details surrounding the innovations.
