Introduction
PayPal is one of the world’s most popular eWallets, available across Canadian online casinos. It is a digital wallet that has received global fame since it was among the first that appeared on the market when the world needed alternative payment solutions. As such, its history is long and exciting, with many ups and downs, but eventually, this is the solution that is still on top of the list of the most convenient methods to use, especially for online gambling transactions. Why use PayPal across Canadian online casinos for deposits and withdrawals?

About PayPal
As introduced, PayPal is one of the first eWallets that have appeared in the world. It was launched in California, the US, way back in 1999, so it has been operating for over two decades. It is a globally-recognized and well-trusted eWallets that is used by over 300 million people every day for all kinds of payments and purchases. Thanks to its renowned platform, users can fund their wallets and cash out funds from it using both traditional methods like bank transfer and credit cards or alternatives like cryptocurrencies, without ever having to share banking information with the merchant or in our case, the online casino operator.
As a global leader in alternative online money processing, PayPal is accepted in more than 200 countries and territories and accepts over 25 currencies and even cryptocurrencies. Along the line, it has received over two dozen of awards for excellence from the internet, financial and business industry. Thanks to its simplicity, encrypted transactions, pretty low fee policy and high-end security measures, it is the top choice for many online casino players.
Speaking of, considering the solution is a responsible one, PayPal keeps track of the ever-changing laws and rules for online gambling transactions, to always stay on top. As such, it becomes available in new markets but exists swiftly from markets where its services are no longer welcome or legal, like in Germany when its government ordered it to stop online casino payments. Or like in the UK, when the UKGC rolled out its promise to ban credit cards to fund online gambling, and PayPal had to forbid UK players from funding their accounts with credit cards.
But since it is perfectly legal in Canada to use eWallets, and credit cards for that matter, for online gambling purposes, the solution is fully embraced by Canadian players and available across many online casino sites. You’ll find it next to other global brands like VISA and MasterCard, therefore, finding a proper casino to join which accepts it would be incredibly effortless. So, if interested in using it, continue reading the next segment, as we’ll explain how to get started with it.
Getting Started with the Solution
If you’ve ever used an eWallet, you know how the getting started procedure with PayPal would go. Nevertheless, we’ll take you through the exact steps, so that there is no confusion.
First, you’d need to visit its Canadian website and locate the Sign Up for Free button, at the centre of the homepage. Then, you’d need to choose Canada as your country and provide your active phone number. Next, enter your email address and create a strong password. A confirmation message will arrive both on your email and phone number.
The next step would be funding your account with money. You can securely connect all your credit cards/bank accounts to it, and with that, you’ll be able to start using your account. That is after you’ve provided the needed ID documents to verify your identity. This is mandatory, due to tax reporting and regulatory reasons. After you go through the verification process, you can start making safe deposits and withdrawals with your eWallet, knowing that your banking/card details will never be shared with the operator.
At this point, you should know that PayPal has rolled out many other products you could use across Canadian online casinos, such as the One Touch feature, which upon first deposit, allows you to make the next deposits without entering your credentials but keeps you logged in, while still allowing for secure and encrypted transactions.
Another useful product launched in association with MasterCard is the line of cards you could apply for and use wherever MasterCard cards are accepted. And then, we should mention its own line of credit, Smart Connect, available wherever the solution is accepted, which allows you to make monthly payments on purchases so you can shop/use the money now and pay later.
And finally, we should mention its historical move, the time when it started approving Bitcoin transactions, which happened in late 2020, the beginning of 2021. Thanks to that option, you can now also buy and sell Bitcoin through your eWallet account.
Depositing and Withdrawing
We’ve established that PayPal is one of the most popular eWallets across both international and Canadian casinos. So, you could find it across thousands of sites, sites that cater to Canadian players. If interested in options reviewed and ready for you to explore, check out the ones listed on our site, like Lucky Clover Spins, Casino.com, PriveWin Casino, BetRivers and FanDuel. Decide on the one that you’d like to join, and register an account with it.
To make your deposit with PayPal, go through these steps:
- Go to your chosen casino’s Deposits/Cashier page.
- Find PayPal’s logo and press it.
- In the new window, enter your credentials and specify how much you’d want to deposit.
- Activate One Touch so that you could make your next deposit without logging into your eWallet account.
- Complete the mandatory authentication process and confirm the transaction.
- The funds will arrive in your casino balance in an instant.
Withdrawals with the eWallet are as simple and fast. As soon as you go through the same procedure as just described, but specify how much you’d want to cash out in step 3, you’d have requested a withdrawal. The casino will review it, and check whether you have any unmet requirements, and the moment it approves it, the money will get to your eWallet account immediately. That’s right, even cashouts are instant with this solution, as soon as approved by the operator.
Applicable Fees
PayPal, as mentioned, is one of the most practical and cost-efficient eWallets to use, but it does not offer its services for free exactly. Sure, some services are for free, like depositing funds when no conversion is needed, signing up for a new account, holding crypto, and sending personal transactions from your bank account, eWallet or AmEx Send account.
But for selling or buying cryptocurrencies, a fee from 1 to 2.3% applies, and for using a card 2.9% plus the fixed fee is charged. For receiving money to your eWallet, a 2.7 to 3.5% fee applies, for commercial transactions a fixed $0.30 fee and a 1.9 to 2.9% fee apply, too. You can check out any other fees involved by visiting its official website and going to the Fees tab.
Accepted Currencies
All of the world’s currencies, meaning the currencies of countries where the eWallet is accepted, are eligible currencies to use. By default, so is the Canadian dollar.
Currency conversion fees apply when using a currency different than the Canadian dollar for your transactions. You can check out the fees involved for each foreign currency in the Fees tab on its official website. You should know that over 25 currencies can be the default, and over 100 currencies can be used for a conversion fee.
Coverage
We said that PayPal is offered across over 200 countries and territories across the globe, Canada included. However, remember that not all of its services are offered all over the world, so check its website to discover which ones are available to Canadian users.
There are also lists of countries that can send, receive money, or both. Canada, luckily for you, is the country whose users can both send and receive funds via the eWallet.
Customer Support
When you visit the Contact page on the Canadian website, you’ll see that there are plenty of ways to get in touch with PayPal’s Support team. You can give them a call at 1 877 569-1116 from Monday through Sunday, from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm.
Then, you have the Search bar where you could type in your problem or question and have the answers generated for you as soon as you press Enter. Then, you have the FAQs section with the most commonly asked questions answered for you, and you have the Message Us option, to talk to the representatives via an on-site contact form.
Of course, you could also contact your chosen casino’s agents, as they are usually available 24/7 via phone, email, Live Chat and on-site contact from, or at least two of these. Get in touch with them about anything, especially about insecurities regarding deposits and withdrawals. They are trained in assisting you with anything.
Conclusion
PayPal is an excellent solution to use as a Canadian online casino player. It is available in your country, you can both send and receive funds via your eWallet account, for reasonable fees. You can find it across most if not all, decent Canadian casinos. You can make both deposits and withdrawals with it, and for any issue, you can contact its dedicated Canadian Customer Support team. What else could one need? So, give it a try as soon as you get, as creating an account with it is free.
FAQs
Is its official website available in many different languages?
Yes. In fact, if you visit its dedicated Canadian website, you’ll see that the solution has made sure you get to explore the site in English and also French, for your convenience.
Which cards can be used for funding the PayPal account?
You have the world’s most popular card brands VISA, American Express, MasterCard, Discover and UnionPay at your disposal.
What if I wanted to use Canadian dollars but also other currencies?
Luckily for you, you can hold multiple currencies on your eWallet account, any of the 25 supported, convert your balance from one to another and make or accept payments with them, as it pleases you.
Is PayPal accepted for withdrawals by default if offered for deposits?
No, not necessarily. In fact, not all casinos that accept it for deposits also accept it for withdrawals. You’d have to double-check to see whether it is a withdrawal option, preferably even before you join the casino, in case you wish to make both deposits and withdrawals with it.
Can I cancel the deposit if I wanted?
It is possible if the transaction is “pending”. You’d need to check the transaction’s status on your eWallet account. But, if it is already on the “review list”, you cannot cancel it.
PayPal is a must for me. It's needed as a third party to transfer from either my bank or debit card to move into my crypto account. And vice versa. Fees are a little over the top but worth it, payment to my PayPal account is instant. Payment from PayPal to my crypto wallet is also instant. Payment out of my PayPal account to my bank takes 3-4 working days. That's the downside for me. Fees and slow withdrawal.
So I use PayPal for more things than I use anything else. I pretty much use PayPal as my wallet. It's super easy to send money I've even used it to deposit on certain sites and I've used it to withdraw. They even have the debit card which is an awesome feature to be able to have and use to purchase things you can use your phone. Just don't mess up and get busted for term violations because once you're done there, you're done
i have never seen an online casino that accepts paypal as payment method deposit/withdrwa... and i might suggest that it is not recoomended for a specific reason, paypal oftenly suspended paypal account holder for some invalid reason and by that time u have to appeal and takes to days before it can be resolve and worse it can take up to half a year... i would love to know few casinos that accepts paypal as payment method i would like to take a look
Paypal is great despite my 2.9 rating. It's just that you can't or shouldn't withdraw/deposit straight to or from a casino from it or to it. Sometimes you "can" but technically it breaks their terms of service and they can hold your funds or suspend your account. However, it is a good companion/step along the way to depositi g/withdrawing, as long as you use a intermediary wallet your cool.
Although I have had my PayPal account suspended for somewhere along the lines of 3 months or possibly even longer, due to a user potential agreement/policy violation they wanted to investigate. Which they claimed I was in violation and they permanently suspended my account with nearly $600 worth of casino winnings being frozen and no way to use these funds. They cited that I wasn’t allowed to use PayPal for funding online casino accounts or withdrawals from online casinos. I argued that EVERY online casino provided PayPal as an allowed payment method/withdrawal option. Eventually everything was finally resolved. They too the full 120 days or whatever before finally admitting that I had done nothing wrong and I was finally able to use my funds within my PayPal account. Needless to say, it was an extremely frustrating experience. Since then, I’ve had no issues.
PayPal as a deposit option is freely available on the majority of UK licensed casinos. It’s a good method that gives privacy if not wanting to use a debit card, casinos will verify that the deposit has come from a PayPal account registered in the same name as the user. I would recommend PayPal as a deposit option
I used PayPal deposit method earlier a lot. I don't know is there anymore a lot of casinos who accept PayPal deposit method from Europe?! I am Finn and I have not find any casino for a years who accept players from Finland to deposit via Paypal. Wake up Casinos, take PayPal back!
In the past, I've often used PayPal to deposit at casinos. It's fast, secure, and hassle-free. However, there aren't many sites that offer this method. Almost everyone uses PayPal for online transactions, so I don't really need to comment on its reliability here. You can do it, but you don't have to.
Was always my main way of depositing but also using the crypto only feature once in awhile and I actually just used my PayPal but very seldom. It has a wide variety of crypto available but I am no longer allowed to use it as far as the crypto feature is, except to receive withdrawn winnings to my Litecoin and sell them because PayPal just does not want me to send any type of crypto to any type of address and I have even spoken on the phone for more than a total of 2 hours all the occasions I've how to resolve this issue. It's always described as resolved and to wait a few days and it should work again and I've never worked again. :-(
PayPal has been very problematic for me lately when it comes to withdraw or payment using Bitcoin. They keep saying that I don't have a balance but show the balance as a method of paying. I've ended up having more fees trying to send to another wallet than just using ether and converting it to Bitcoin after it's been transferred to another wallet
Im a fan of paypal only due to its usually really fast cashing out. Also the ability to buy and send crypto and recieve crypto from withdrawals with the ability to sell and put in your bank account. Very helpful and convenient. Not alot of crypto options but the main ones are there and easily used.
I personally use PayPal a lot I can transfer money to friends and family with no fee I don't know of any casinos that accept PayPal as a deposit method but I use PayPal to buy and receive my crypto currency that what I use it mostly for to receive my winnings in crypto and then convert it to money very easy
I have many many many great things to say about PayPal, you can use it as instant bank transfer, plaid sign in, verification for most casinos, it has crypto with lower fees for transactions than most others, send/receive to or from anyone, plus so many other uses as far as receiving you can sign in some platforms with PayPal, overall it is one of the most convenient and generously many features as far as a payment method or well if you haven't used PayPal seriously go try it they even have a sign up bonus most times
I wish I could find more online casinos that use PayPal as a deposit and withdrawal method. PayPal is a good payment method for most everything except Casino and online gambling. I think it is good that you can transfer money to your account very quickly if you want, without having to pay any major fees.
Depositing with PayPal at an online casino is quick, extremely secure, and convenient. The payment system is accepted worldwide. Payments are processed instantly, ensuring a seamless experience. Ideal for users who value simple and reliable transactions. My absolute favorite.
Unfortunately, PayPal is not available in Brazil for depositing at casinos. It would be a good option, but unfortunately, this has not yet been possible. For example, I use PayPal for almost everything, but there must be a specific reason for not accepting it for gambling.
Its very popular e wallet. I like to use it. 8ts very convenient and easy to use. But if give a glance on casinos mostly casinos dont offer this method. May be in future this method will be popular in casinos?
I do not use paypal very often because it is not so popular method in my country and I think there is easier ways to me make payments.
i prefer paypal is the easiest for me to deposit and withdrawal but the problem is not too many casinos have it as method
I have paypal account it is good for some players when withdrawing of winnings and payouts but in my region it is hard to get verified and also some of my friends have locked accounts in paypal their money Because of heavy payouts from winnings and for paid job oustside the county not that good for me. Will use another method not this one.. So many issues if you try to request payout need to verify prof of income when did the money came from... Not good at all.
I wish I could find more casinos that use PayPal as a deposit and withdrawal method. Tell you the truth I have not found one except mr.o I think has recently added this method. I'll keep searching for more though I guess.
Having PayPal as a withdrawal and deposit method keeps me coming back to casinos. Its ease of use is the main reason I prefer this method. I truly appreciate when PayPal is available, as it makes both withdrawals and deposits seamless and hassle-free.
PayPal is a solid payment option, IF you can find enough platforms accepting it as a deposit method for your country. It’s super unfortunate that so few online casinos seem to accept it even after all this time. Hopefully, we’ll still see more casinos adopting it in the future, but it's fairly mature in the market, soooo not holding my breath 😉
I think PayPal is good in itself, but unfortunately almost no online casinos that I know of offer this payment method so far. But maybe in the future. I also think it's good that you can transfer money to your account very quickly if you want, without having to pay any major fees.
I like PayPal but have never seen it as a banking option in a casino. Be that as it may, it is a highly versatile and widely available wallet and comes with features like PayPal card and pay in 4. I use PayPal to transact online internationally because it is quicker than the banking system
Paypal is a decent way to deposit or withdraw from a casino. It's quick and easy. The best thing about it is the convience of using this form of payment. I'm glad a lot of casinos are moving to putting it as a currency method. Only bad thing is , the reason I didn't give it a 5 is it allows Paypal to be in your business about what you use your money for and in my opinion there in your business to much already. For example if they think your sending to much crypto they will put a stop to it.
PayPal is a good payment method for mostly everything except Casino and online gambling. It you want to deposit for activities such as online gambling, you should look into other deposit and withdrawal options.
Really, the truth is that it is not the best method to withdraw your winnings or deposit either because Paypal accounts usually have a limit and also if that were not enough, not many reliable casinos offer it as a payment method to use, in my opinion if you are looking for speed It's perfect, the problem is that there are better and more functional methods for each one.
PayPal is a really good payment method it is so quick with transfers which I like but unfortunately cannot be used for gambling it is still good safe method of transferring your money really quick and hassle free.
I like using PayPal for a lot of things some casinos offer this as a payment option but PayPal does not support gambling and they will limit your account so I suggest you find other options for banking If you want to keep your PayPal account. I’ve learned the hard way!
Hello to all out there, so , I think that Paysafe is better that srillex,, and i f7nd Casino that pays good bonus
Throughout the years Paypal has become more and more useful! I don't know how long since I had Paypal for but from the very beginning until now it's been one of the best overall payment solutions including withdrawing funds from Coinbase and for shopping. As a deposit method for gambling sadly Paypal isn't an option for us canadians but it seems to be great for players in the UK. One of the greatest methods out there that stood the test of time! Mega thumbs up!
Excellent...! Fast and easy but also secure deposits and withdrawals are uncomplicated with PayPal and I really appreciate that.
Paypal is such a quick and easy banking option I absolutely think this is a great way to pay
are these couple of casinos that actually take PayPal deposits legit? I cannot believe that PayPal in this day and age would do business with online gambling providers, US-facing or not, so I am extremely iffy when deciding to trust any casino that happens to take PayPal as a deposit method. What do you guys think anyone actually played at these 2 casinos?
PayPal is actually a good payment method, but unfortunately it is no longer accepted in online casinos. It is my favorite for sports betting providers because deposits and withdrawals are quick and possible without any fees.
Recently, I think PayPal is a much better payment method, since you can have your PayPal balance paid out to your Visa or Mastercard. And the best thing is it is immediately credited to the credit card :)
cant find a single south african accepting casino that accepts paypal , plural GRRRRR
Love it to pieces
Very hard to find casinos that accept Paypal deposits. Would be great if there were more casinos that accept it, there are few which I know like Paddypower and Williamhill but should be more! Withdraw from Paypal to bank account is quick, although it does not include weekends. I get the money same day if it's processed before 12.00 so not much waiting.
I have been using Paypal for years now but i can't use it for gambling i can't find any casino that will accept Paypal deposits or withdrawals from the Philippines nevertheless i can still use Paypal in other ways like accepting payments and making payments to other individuals or groups not just for gambling.
I must admit, I love PAYPAL for so many reasons, Accept Online casinos. I can't deposit nor withdraw from Paypal within the United States. Which I totally understand. I wish I could, I'd be able to play and deposit a lot more if I were able to deposit and withdraw with paypal. Damn laws. :P
