Cascades Casino Delta Finds a Hotel Operator

Gateway Casino & Entertainment has provided some development on its Cascades Casino Delta project in B.C. The company now informs that it has reached an agreement with a hotel operator for the hospitality facility in the soon-to-be casino complex. A Delta by Marriott Hotel will be a part of the project next to the interchange of highways 99 and 17A.

The Delta casino site will include a 40,000-square-foot gaming floor with up to 600 slot machines and over 30 gaming tables. In addition to that, there will be a hotel with several dining amenities for patrons to enjoy. Construction of the new casino complex has already started, but it was previously impacted by the unprecedented situation which slowed down the process significantly.

Great Location

In a recent news release, Jeff Krivoshen from P.R. Hotels said that the company is extremely happy to be part of the project and work with both Gateway Casino & Entertainment and Marriott Hotels to bring the hotel facility to the region. He also said that the company is pleased with the location as well since it is only 15 minutes away from Vancouver International Airport in the north and 15 minutes from the Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal to the south.

Meridian Development’s representative Karl Miller said that the collaboration would have a beneficial impact on the City of Delta. Mr. Miller stated that the project would attract tourists, conferences, and conventions from all over the country and the United States. He also pointed out that Delta has a great geographical location which will also be another plus for the new facility.

As of right now, we do not know all the details about the future hotel facility, but according to an application sent from the gaming corporation to the city, the hotel will be a five-story one. It will offer meeting spaces with a 116-120 room capacity. There will also be the trade-mark brands of the gaming conglomerate: Match Eatery & Public House, a buffet, and Atlas Steak + Fish Restaurant.

The casino project is expected to cost CA$87 million to the gaming company, and work at the site is underway. However, the company did not provide a concrete date for the official opening. The plan for the Delta location has been approved by the BCLC three years ago, but the Ministry of Transportation did not give its go-ahead until 2019.

Replacing Trees

In order to begin the construction process of Cascades Casino Delta, the gaming company had to remove over 45 trees from the site. However, the plan is to have over 225 new ones to replace the removed, which is a 5:1 increase. Now the number of trees at the location is 507, which will provide fresh air and transform the future casino into a picturesque complex.

Previous Update

Previous set of updates on the construction of Cascades Casino Delta was provided by Gateway Casinos & Entertainment in April. A spokesperson for the company revealed that the development process was going according to schedule, as contractors have almost finished the construction of the elevated concrete and now should be focused on steel elevator structures.
