Woodbine Entertainment Unveils Next Draw Details

Woodbine Entertainment will be hosting the draws for the Grade 1 Ricoh Woodbine Mile and Grade 1 Pattison Canadian International at noon on Wednesday, September 15, 2021. And for those who want to follow the events the horse racing leader will be streaming it live on several different online platforms for the viewers’ comfort.

It is going to be an exciting weekend for the horse racing fans as this week will be Woodbine Entertainment’s Turf Festival event. The weekend will feature the CA$1 million Ricoh Woodbine Mile and CA$600,000 Pattison Canadian International will on Saturday, September 18. And the Grade 2 Canadian Stakes on Saturday and Grade 1 Summer Stakes and Grade 1 Natalma on Sunday.

The Wednesday’s draw for the CA$1 million Ricoh Woodbine Mile and CA$600,000 Pattison Canadian International at Woodbine Racetrack will be taking place at noon. The live show will be hosted by Jason Partuondo and horse racing analyst Jeff Bratt. Additionally, the draw will be streamed on the company’s official Facebook page and YouTube channel, as well as on HPItv Canada.

The possible field for the Grade 1 Ricoh Woodbine Mile can feature Avie’s Flatter, Change of Control, Duke of Hazard (Fr), Jolie Olimpica, March of the Arch, Olympic Runner, Raging Bull, Ride a Comet, Set piece, Space Traveler and Space Cruise. The Pattison Canadian International could see Belichick, Bluegrass Parkway, Corelli, Desert Encounter, English Conqueror, Fantasioso, Theregoesjojo, and Wolton Street.

The company’s Woodbine Mohawk Park is also set for an exciting weekend for live racing with an impressive CA$1.6 million racing card. The program will include the CA$414,000 Elegantimage for 3-year-old trotting fillies, CA$176,815 Simcoe for 3-year-old pacers, CA$159,600 Ontario Sires Stakes Gold for 2-year-old trotting colts and geldings, CA$100,000 Mohawk Gold Cup Invitational, and a pair Shes a Great Lady elimination for 2-year-old pacing fillies.

The Canadian Trotting Classic for 3-year-old trotters will have a total of 16 contestants and the top 10 highest lifetime earners have qualified for Saturday’s highly-awaited final. The event is number 10 on the card and it will be at 10:45 p.m. The Mohawk Gold Cup is carded as race eight at 9:55 p.m. and the Simcoe Stakes is placed as race nine on the card at 10:20 p.m.

North America Cup Results

Last week, the track hosted the 38th edition of the CA$1 million Pepsi North America Cup. This year the annual event was won by Desperate Man, who managed to overcome the crowd’s favorite Bulldog Hannover. Desperate Man stopped the timer at 1:49.3 and secured the first win of a North America Cup for its driver Trevor Henry in his fourth attempt.

Update in Health Protocols

Woodbine Entertainment has also voiced its support for the new provincial measures of proof of full vaccination. The company’s properties in the province will soon require staff, patrons, members, and horse racing participants to present full vaccination proof prior to entering the premises. If not vaccinated the beforementioned groups will have to participate in the Enhanced Screening Program.
