Ontario Resident Wins Big with CA$9.4-Million Jackpot

Each week of lottery draws in Canada is a reason for excitement as almost every week the country greets its latest lotto millionaire. The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation revealed that last weekend’s draw of the fan-favorite Lotto 6/49 game has found a winner for its main prize. The winning ticket has been sold to someone in Ontario and the ticket is currently worth CA$9.4 million.

Every year Canadians win hundreds of millions in prizes in the draw-based games across the country. The two most popular ones are Lotto 6/49 and Lotto Max, as both provide enormous prize pools for players. Ontario residents have access to both physical copies and digital copies of the tickets, as they can play online on the Crown’s official website OLG.ca.

Newest Lotto Millionaire

The Crown Agency informed that there has been a winning ticket drawn for the last draw of the popular Lotto 6/49 draw-based game. The Saturday’s fortunate ticket holder will now have to their name the hefty amount of CA$9.4 million thanks to the main prize. The Crown advises all ticket holders to carefully check their tickets and contact the agency in order to receive their rewards.

In addition to the winner of the main prize, there was also a winner from the province of the runner-up prize at the draw which amounts to CA$250,000. The guaranteed CA$1 million prize has also been claimed by someone in Ontario, stated the Crown Corporation. The next draw for the Lotto 6/49 will be hosted on June 16, and the jackpot will be CA$5,000,000.

Lotto Max Draw

The Lotto Max jackpot continues to stand at its peak of the whooping CA$70,000,000 this week. The Crown informed that during last Friday’s Lotto Max draw, the main prize still remains unclaimed. However, there were over 54 Maxmillion prizes each worth CA$1,000,000. Out of the 54 prizes, 20 of them were claimed by ticket holders from across the country.

According to the British Columbia Lottery Corporation, one of the 20 winners is from the province and resides in Vernon. The Friday’s Lotto Max jackpot drew the numbers 1, 26, 30, 32, 34,39, and 46 as the winning ones for the Vernon lotto player’s Maxmillion prize. The lucky player is yet to contact the Crown corporation about claiming his CA$1 million prize.

Noelville Couple

The last time that the Lotto Max jackpot reached its CA$70,000,000 limit was earlier this year. The grand prize was one in February by Marc and Dorothy-Ann Meilleur as their lottery ticket was the lucky one drawn as the winning one of the major prize of CA$70,000,000 in the February 26 draw of the game. Thanks to the draw-based game their lives have been drastically changed for the better.

Earlier Retirement

Another more recent individual who has won a major sum from the Lotto Max game is Grover Adams from Kirkland Lake. In the April 20 draw of the game, the 60-year-old’s ticket matched all seven winning numbers thus providing the man with the substantial prize of CA$15 million. Mr. Adams already daydreams about the many finishing trips he is about to make as he plans for earlier retirement.
