The lottery has the potential of changing someone’s life forever, in a blink of an eye someone’s ticket can turn out to be the winning one. The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation has just reported that this has been the case for someone who has recently purchased a Lotto 6/49 ticket from the Atlantic Canada region.
Lotto 6/49 and Lotto Max are without a doubt the two most prominent draw-based games in Canada, due to their huge payouts. Local players win plenty of major prizes every year, with the provinces’ lotteries awarding players with hundreds of millions of dollars in winnings. Fans of the games can enjoy them in both physical and online ticket formats, depending on the province of residence.
The Crown corporation has most recently informed that the CA$6 million jackpot from last Saturday’s Lotto 6/49 has been won. The winner of the major prize is located somewhere in the Atlantic region of the country. The Crown advises every player that has purchased a ticket for the last week’s draw of the game to carefully check their tickets.
Additionally, the Crown corporation has also revealed that another player from the Atlantic region has been drawn as the draw’s guaranteed prize winner. The lucky ticket holder will have the hefty CA$1 million to their name. The next Lotto 6/49 is scheduled for June 2, and the jackpot will be amounting to over CA$5 million.
In addition to that, two Western Canadian ticket holders have been drawn as the winners of two of the total of 12 Maxmillion prizes. Thanks to Friday’s Lotto Max draw the two winners will both claim CA$1 million. The first one is located in Winnipeg, with winning numbers 3, 14, 18, 19, 39, 41, and 45. The other ticket holder resides in Calgary.
Last but not least, the Lotto Max grand jackpot remained without a winner again last week. Meaning that the grand prize will now grow to the staggering amount of CA$70 million. The next draw for the game is scheduled for tomorrow June 1, 2021. It is also worth mentioning that there will be 18 Maxmillion prizes up for grabs.
Previous, major lottery winning that has recently occurred across Canada was the 63-year-old Kathy Roksa. The Hamilton lotto player has been quite fortunate as she was drawn as the winner of the Lotto 6/49 jackpot, thus claiming the pleasant amount of CA$6 million. Her life was changed for the better in the March 20 draw, but she most recently officially claimed her check.
The month of May has been a historic one for Manitoba. For the first time in the province’s lottery history, someone from outside of Winnipeg has won more than CA$1 million from the draw-based game. In fact, Keith Spulnick has won significantly more than CA$1 million as the Fraserwood resident has won the impressive CA$27.5 million from the May 12 draw of Lotto 6/49.
