Following the many recent changes in the management department of the British Columbia, Lottery Corporation has decided to appoint Greg Moore as its new chair. Mr. Moore will take over the Crown Corporation’s position with effect immediately after Peter Kappel steps down from it on May 31, 2021.
The Kamloops-based Crown agency is responsible for officially regulating all gaming and lottery offerings in the province of British Columbia. The corporation always strives of bringing gambling options in a safer way for its many players, as the company also reminds all participants to play for fun and not for making money.
New Appointment
The Crown Corporation will be exploring its new growth possibility, and Mr. Moore’s experience will certainly prove to be valuable in those efforts. His contract as the new chair of the company officially begins on May 31, 2021, and is until October 31, 2023. This is exactly after the current and soon-to-be-former chair Peter Kappel steps down.
Mr. Moore has plenty of experience in the leadership and the public services field and he is a quite familiar face within the corporation. He has previously served as the company’s board chair and interim president and CEO. He was also mayor of Port Coquitlam from 2008 to 2018, and in addition to that, he was Metro Vancouver’s chair of the board of directors from 2011 to 2018.
Back in 2018, Mr. Moore joined the Crown agency’s board of directors after a provincial government order. Then, in 2019, he resigned from the position in order to take over the company’s role of interim president and CEO until January 2021, as president and CEO had to take some time off due to his cancer treatment.
As the current chair of the board term is nearing its end on May 31, 2021, Mr. Kappel will vacate the position for Mr. Moore who will take over it immediately. The new board chair includes members Fiona Chan of Kamloops, alongside Joanne Axford, Hilary Cassady, Lisa Ethans, Dusty Kelly, Mario Lee, and Coro Strandberg.
New Partnership
Most recently the Crown Corporation has announced that it has reached an agreement with the Greentube gambling operator. This will allow the agency to further improve its quality of already impressive gaming content available on PlayNow.com. Local gamblers will be able to enjoy the debuting studio’s hit titles such as Book of Ra™ deluxe, Lucky Lady’s Charm™ deluxe, Sizzling Hot™ deluxe all the way to the developer’s Diamond Link series.
Stanley Cup Betting Preparations
The crown corporation’s online platform offers a great variety of betting opportunities, on top of the vast collection of gaming titles. Recently, the company revealed its odds for the Stanley Cup. This could be a special edition of the tournament as a Canadian team has not won it since 1993, and by the time of posting the odds, the cup had two Canadian participants with Toronto Maple Leafs and the Montreal Canadiens still standing.
