Hard Rock’s Job-Recruiting Advertisement Aims to Re-Employ Former Trump Taj Mahal Employees

We want you to work for us – that is what Hard Rock Casino and Hotel Atlantic City says to former Trump Taj Mahal employees. The establishment posted a job-recruiting advertisement on their website, dubbing it an “invitation-only” event aiming to re-employ former Trump Taj Mahal workers who were employed at least 30 days prior to the closure of what president Trump dubbed “the eighth wonder” in October 2016.

“We are always looking to bring a fresh approach to our service, attitude, and actions. We are seeking like-minded ‘Rock Stars’ who are interested in a career in the fast-paced gaming industry,” the posting reads.

Even though Hard Rock Casino and Hotel is not the only gambling venue to open in Atlantic City in 2018, it surely is the most important, experts say. And the reason for that is the fact that Hard Rock will create 1,000 construction and 3,000 new permanent jobs in Atlantic City. After the city suffered an economic downturn which lead to the closure of some casinos in the city, the opening of the Hard Rock is expected to revive the gambling industry and attract new investments in the region. Jobs opened by Hard Rock will be available in various spheres among which food and beverages, table gaming, hotel operations, marketing and entertainment.

Hard Rock International, which is owned by Florida’s Seminole Indian tribe, announced their purchase of Trump’s “eighth wonder” from his friend and fellow billionaire Carl Icahn on March 1, 2017. The Trump Taj Mahal was purchased for $50 million, but owners and investors say they will spend an additional $500 million on renovation and reconstruction works to get rid of the $1.2 billion-worth Indian theme of the resort.

What to Expect from the New Gambling Venue

The theme of the new venue is, as one could expect, hard rock. Owners say that part of the money invested in the renovation and reconstruction works will be destined to help expand Hard Rock’s largest and most valuable music memorabilia in existence. What is more, the design of the Hard Rock Casino and Hotel will also pay tribute to the greats and museum-like displays will beautify walls throughout the property.

When it opens in May this year, the Hard Rock Casino and Hotel will offer its customers never-ending fun and entertainment options. Hard Rock’s chairman Jim Allen says the project is all about music and seven-days-a-week fun. Maybe that is the reason why hotel guests will be able to even lend a Fender guitar in their hotel rooms.

According to Hard Rock’s website, when the venue opens in May this year it will enrich Atlantic City’s gambling business by an additional 2,400 slots and 130 table games.

Trump Taj Mahal first suffered a harsh economic downturn in 2009 just a few days after Donald and Ivanka Trump both resigned, but the venue was saved by the previous owner Carl Icahn. However, he was unable to save Trump Taj Mahal from subsequent closure in October 2016. Reason for it was Icahn’s failure to reach an agreement with the Atlantic City main casino workers’ union on the matter of new health and pension benefits and a subsequent strike which broke out in July 2016.
