Both entities have now launched a series of new wagering options for their clients, this includes single event lottery betting on sports, as well as real-time odds and futures. The latest launch is enabled via the provider’s lottery’s sports betting engine, which has now been customized for the Crown corporation to be directly integrated with its central gaming system. Tedda Sandercock, who is the Vice President of IT for the WCLC, commented that the company is quite proud of the work done by both the Crown and Scientific Games Lottery teams that helped rejuvenate the sports betting experience. Now, the Crown is able to offer real-time odds, futures, and single-game betting to its Western Canadian players.
According, the official with the integration of new sports betting functionality, players will experience a brand-new product. After the recent launch, the WCLC now offers to its valued customers Point Spread, Pro-Line, Props, Over/Under, Pools, and Futures. Available via its Sport Select platform. Players must know that there is a CA$100 limit on wagers.
Ms. Sandercock has also said that by using the new ticket builder functionality found online at sportselect.com, players can make their picks through real-time odds to generate a QR code. Then they can take the code to a lottery retailer and acquire their ticket. The Vice President of IT concluded by saying that the corporation is excited to offer this new online option for its customers.
Christian Kometer, Managing Director International Lottery Systems for Scientific Games, noted that the company is happy to once again collaborate with the WCLC to provide a first-to-market lottery offering to western Canada. Always Improving

In July, the Crown agency announced a new contract agreement with the global gaming corporation International Game Technology or IGT. Thanks to the deal, the lottery will be supplied with over 700 CrystalDual® 27 video lottery terminals for its land-based properties.

In order to stay competitive, in the summer of 2020, the WCLC signed an agreement with Hewlett Packard Enterprise GreenLake solution, which will help the Crown corporation’s future endeavors and digitalization. The Crown agency realized the need for modernization after its land-based gaming properties were closed down due to the emerging unprecedented situation, thus being unable to conduct its regular operations.
