OSS Super Finals Coming this Weekend

Horse racing fans from Ontario and Canada will be able to enjoy one more thrilling weekend of Standardbred racing on October 16, 2021, at Woodbine Mohawk Park. The Milton-based horse racing track will be hosting the impressive eight Ontario Sires States Super Finals races on Saturday as the season is coming to an end.

The eight-race card will see plenty of fans’ favorite horses from the Gold level of the provincial program battle against each other for a total of CA$1,800,000 in purses distributed among the finals. Fans can enjoy the events live at the track, or if not possible they can also tune in the Woodbine Entertainment’s official stream.

Action-Packed Saturday

Saturday’s race card will feature the CA$225,000 OSS Super Final for two-year-old filly paces. This race will feature prominent names such as Prohibition Legal and Silver Label. The two horses have combined 13 wins from 15 starts and winning of almost a million. There will also be a CA$225,000 final for two-year-old filly trots with names like Adare Castle and Mischievous Rose.

On Saturday, fans can also expect the CA$225,000 OSS Super Final for three-year-old filly paces. Here, Scarlett Hanover and Voelz Delight are among the favorites to grab the first place. The next race is the OSS Super Final of three-year-old colt trots with CA$225,000 in purses. Fashion Frenzie, who starts at Post position 9, and Logan Park are the two most popular names in this race.

The race card will also feature a Super Final from two-year-old colt paces with a purse of CA$225,000. At Post position 1 who has never finished below second place in six career starts will be going head-to-head with Erinwood Yves who recorded the impressive 1:51.1 in the $99,000 OSS Gold Series division. A two-year-old colt trot final will also be taking place on Saturday with Duly Resolved and Twin B Archie as the crowd’s favorites.

Three-year-old colt paces will also have an OSS Super Final on Sunday with CA$225,000 in purse rewards. Here Desperate Man, Bulldog Hanover, and Powertrain will be battling for the top spot. Last but not least is the CA$225,000 OSS Super Final for three-year-old filly trots, where HP Mama B will compete for the seventh win of the season against Imextraspecial who has some impressive OSS Gold Series performances this season.

OSS Grassroots Series

Previously, fans of the sport had the opportunity to watch the Ontario Sires Stakes Grassroots Series finals at the Woodbine Mohawk Park. The event was hosted on October 9, 2021, and it featured CA$480,000 in purses with some exciting horse racing action. Moneyworth impressed spectators with a first win of the night with a time of 1:56.1 and competed for owner Brian Kleinberg.

One More Mohawk Million

At the start of October, Woodbine Entertainment has informed its plans of hosting the Mohawk Million event once again next year. The company is delighted with the results of this year’s edition, which was the second one so far, and now informs trainers and horse owners of its intentions to host it again next year, as the yearling sales will be taking place soon.
