Woodbine Ent. Reports Impressive Betting Handle

Woodbine Entertainment has most recently reported an impressive amount of wagering activity during last weekend’s race cards at its tracks Woodbine Racetrack and Woodbine Mohawk Park. For the five racing cards from Friday to Sunday, the company has recorded a total of CA$30 million wagering volume, with a record-setting CA$13 million from the Saturday Thoroughbred card.

Over CA$30 has been wagered on the two tracks during the Friday, Saturday, and Sunday racing cards. Due to the high betting volume, Woodbine Racetrack recorded its highest-ever handle on Saturday with CA$13,856,030.71. This has also broken another record but for the Ricoh Woodbine Mile card which was an increase of 17.3% over last year’s edition.

Record-Breaking Weekend

The horse racing leader informs that horseplayers have wagered over CA$2.2 million on the Ricoh Woodbine Mile race and over CA$1.7 million on the Pattison Canadian International race. The Saturday 12 races card was also highlighted by a quartet of multi-leg wager guarantees and a Jackpot Hi-5 with a mandatory payout, which secured CA$957,408.21 in handle.

Woodbine Racetrack’s Sunday afternoon card saw a total of CA$7.2 million betting volume for its 11-race program. The card featured a pair of Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup “Win and You’re In” Challenge Series, which was a great conclusion to the company’s Turf Festival Weekend. Racing at the track will now continue to its usual schedule.

Standardbred racing has also enjoyed a great amount of betting volume out west at the company’s Woodbine Mohawk Park. Horseplayers wagered over CA$3.1 million on Saturday’s 13-race card at the track, which is an increase of 9.4% over last year’s annual event. The highlight of the day was the Canadian Trotting Classic. On Friday, visitors of the track accumulated over CA$2.6 million.

This week, live racing at Woodbine Mohawk Park continued on Tuesday, and it will be now renewed on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday with a post time of 7 p.m. Racing action at Woodbine Racetrack will recommence on Thursday afternoon and it will run through the weekend. Post time Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday is 1:10 p.m., while Friday’s events will begin at 4:50 p.m.

Post Positions Revealed

Additionally, this week Woodbine Entertainment hosted the draw for this weekend’s Mohawk Million and Metro Pace. The 10-horse field Mohawk Million will see King in The North start at post 2, the undefeated Venerable at post position number 9, And the Kentucky Sire Stakes winner Selfie Queen will be at post 10. New Protocols

Previously, the horse racing leader has also announced its support for Ontario’s new proof of full vaccination policy. The company will now require its staff, horsepeople participants, and contractors to present full immunization proof upon entry for its Ontario properties. The facilities are Woodbine Racetrack, Casino Woodbine, Woodbine Mohawk Park Racetrack, Elements Casino Mohawk, Greenwood Teletheatre, and WEGZ Stadium Bar
