Loto-Quebec Improves Live Casino Experience

Due to the high demand for all kinds of online casino games, Loto-Quebec has taken up its games a notch. The Crown corporation started using actual croupiers for their Live Online game selection. Employees of the Swedish Evolution Gaming company will be dealing cards from Latvia and Georgia, which will certainly improve the overall experience.

The lack of real-life operating casinos, because of the lockdown, has taken its toll on most gambling enthusiasts who have either started playing online or stopped gambling altogether. This is why the demand for quality online games has risen over the last year. Seeing an actual human being dealing the cards or throwing the ball is a major improvement over any pre-recorded lines or computer-generated image.

Tax Haven

The collaboration between Loto-Quebec and the tax haven-operating company of Evolution Gaming, started back in 2019 when both companies put it to pen and paper. While land-based casinos are closed, players can still enjoy a great variety of real-time games such as blackjack, poker, roulette games, and baccarat, all of which are available on Loto-Quebec’s official website.

Even though Evolution Gaming is a Swedish company on paper, most of its revenue is generated in Malta, which is considered a tax haven country, due to its low tax rates. The company has a tax rate of 4.5% in 2019, and it is a parent company to the beforementioned Maltese company with the name of Evolution Malta Limited.

According to…

a report by the Quebec Ministry of Finance to the Public Finance Committee, Malta is in on four different lists of tax havens. The country was also involved in a controversy when journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia was murdered while investigating a corruption case. In 2020, The Tax Justice Network classified Malta as one of the “shadiest” countries in the world.

In addition to that, after a major leak of information by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists, Evolution Gaming’s CEO – Martin Olof Carlesund is listed as president of several other Maltese companies. The company employs only 162 in Canada, and over 5,440 of around 7000 employees work in Georgia and Latvia.

Union adviser to the Canadian Union of Public Employees Jean-Pierre Proulx stated that the union does not mind the fact that Loto-Quebec was employing croupiers and staff from abroad, despite over 4,000 employees being dismissed because of the lockdown. The crown corporation insisted that they are turning to foreign employees to reduce costs and improve on already existing live games.

Evolution Gaming’s Variety

Evolution Gaming was founded in 2007, and ever since then has been one of the leading online games suppliers for casino operators, working with some of the biggest online platforms in Europe, such as Royal Panda, LeoVegas, BetVictor, ComeOn!, and Genting Casino. After the success at home, Evolution Gaming decided to expand its horizons across the ocean by creating live studios in New Westminster, Vancouver, and British Columbia.

Two Language Live Casino

Another great product of the Loto-Quebec and Evolution Gaming successful relationship is the Live Casino in Vancouver. The land-based casino expands on over 15,000 square feet, meaning that there is more than enough space for different kinds of gambling activities, which are available in two languages, making them suitable for a broader player base.
