The International Circuit of the World Series of Poker is to return for its fourth season starting this August, after traveling across the world for the past three years. Four stops of the Circuit have already been confirmed by the poker series’ organizers, with more expected to be announced soon.
The 2018/2019 edition of the WSOP-C is to first kick off in Canada, at the country’s premier poker destination – the Playground Poker Club in the Quebec Province. The iconic international live poker series is to return to Canada after a 2-year break, with live action set to start on August 23rd.
The poker club, which is situated in close proximity to downtown Montreal, has become home to some of the largest and most exciting poker action which North America has to offer since its opening in 2010. This time, the gambling facility is to host a total of seven WSOP-C ring events, which are to kick off there in the period from August 23rd and September 3rd.
2018/2019 WSOP-C Canada Stop Schedule
As mentioned above, seven live poker events from the WSOP International Circuit are scheduled to be hosted by the Playground Poker Club this year, with them offering a variety of buy-ins and guaranteed prize pools in order to match different bankrolls and players’ preferences.
Two out of seven events – the CA$330 Colossus and the CA$1,100 Main Event – will feature online day ones, followed by a number of live play days.
First, the Playground Poker Club is to host the CA$330 Colossus event, which is set to kick off on August 23rd and is to be held in the course of ten days in total. The live action is to be preceded by four online starting flights which are to be held from August 19th to 22nd. Then, as already mentioned, live action is to start on August 23rd, with a total of nine Day 1s to be held before the Day 2, which is also to be the final day of the event. The Colossus offers a buy-in of CA$330, as well as a guaranteed prize pool of CA$1,000,000.
The most-expected event over the WSOP International Circuit in Canada would undoubtedly be the CA$1,100 Main Event. The latter would be held over 10 play days, with two online starting flights available on August 25th and 26th. The live action is to start with four Day 1s from August 28th to August 31st, which will then be followed by a Day 2, Day 3 and a Final Day with the event set to end on September 3rd. The WSOP-C Main Event is to offer a buy-in of CA$1,100, as well as a massive guaranteed prize of CA$2,000,000.
Meanwhile, five other events are scheduled to kick off at the Playground Poker Club, all of them featuring a variety of buy-ins and guaranteed prices.
August 27th will see the 2-day CA$600 Monster Stack event start, with the tournament offering a CA$150,000 guarantee. Then, starting August 29th, another 2-day event is to be held. This would be the CA$5,300 Super High Roller event which is to offer a guaranteed prize pool of CA$250,000.
On August 31st, the CA$300 Closer event will start. The tournament will be held in four days, with the four Day 1s set to be held by a Final Day on September 3rd. The Closer event offers a CA$300,000 guarantee.
Two more events from the WSOP-C Canada stop’s schedule are set to be held at the beginning of September. First, the three-day CA$2,200 High Roller event is to kick off on September 1st, offering a guaranteed prize pool of CA$250,000. And last but not least, the CA$550 Pot-Limit Omaha event will be held on September 3rd, with a CA$50,000 guaranteed prize set to be granted to players who finish in the money.
