Poker Guru Phil Galfond Makes Splash with Innovative Daily Fantasy Sports Online Platform

The American professional poker player Phil Galfond officially announced that he is to establish another online website dedicated to Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS). The poker pro posted the news for his new project on the official website of his already-existing poker website called RunItOnce, where he presents his ideas regarding the future venture. It became clear that his new project is called DraftBoard and it is to approach the interesting world of Daily Fantasy Sports in an entirely new way.

Galfond is a well-known face on the poker scene, best remembered for his attachment to high-stakes poker games. Last year, he announced his plans to launch his first online project, offering real-money play as well as a guide to poker. Mere hours ago, Galfond made an official announcement via a blog post on his website. He revealed that he plans to launch soon a DFS-dedicated online platform called the DraftBoard. The website is a project created in partnership with Chief Executive Officer Dan Quinn.

Among all other things, the future project is to welcome the poker expert in the vast world of Daily Fantasy Sports, expanding his horizons. According to Galfond, the Daily Fantasy Sports market is in need of new offerings, as there are only 2 big companies, including DraftKings and FanDuel, which is far from enough for such a rapid-growing industry. The website is to offer players one friendly and customized gaming environment, providing both single- and multi-entry options.

Even though the poker guru publicized his intentions for the new venture, he did not reveal many details regarding the brand’s launch. This, on the other hand, is not really surprising taking into account that most of the DFS platforms are pretty similar to each other. DraftBoard is to keep the already-established tradition of salary-cap style games, which does not mean that it will be the next website to offer one and the same gaming options. Galfond’s new DFS website is to include some unique features such as improved entry system called FairMatch. The other second-to-none feature is called DraftBoard Live section, which allows end-users to have a look at their full teams whilst competing on one field.

DraftBoard’s Improvements in Details

As aforementioned, there will be 2 major upgrades in Galfond’s DraftBoard. The first to be discussed is the FairMatch, which aims to make the money operation process smoother. For that purpose, the feature is to offer low and high lobbies. It is also to prevent amateur players’ interests as it will protect them from the experienced sharks in the DFS field. In that way, players from all calibers can play against players from their corresponding rank. Besides all these, the system is to match the entries in a competition with their respective ones. DraftBoard Live, on the other hand, is to visualize the different teams’ performance once the game begins. At present, not even a single DFS website offers a similar option.

Currently, the website offers only contests for the National Football League (NFL), awaiting the start of the National Basketball Association’s (NBA) derbies. It is important to note that the website is available to a limited number of countries due to various legal restrictions. Players from Canada are provided with a full access to the website, but unfortunately, American-based players cannot enjoy such freedom.
