This week, Kindred Group’s casino brand Unibet was presented as the official online gaming partner to the Honda Indy Toronto. The annual motorsport festival which takes place in downtown Toronto will be held from July 14 through July 16. Via the deal, the operator gained the rights to feature a Unibet Finish Line Lounge, offering beer and a viewing area.
Honda Indy Toronto will feature the NTT INDYCAR Series at the Exhibition Place in downtown Toronto. Running from July 14 through July 16, 2023, this year’s motorsport spectacle will return for its 35th edition. On top of the on-track excitement, the event will also offer other off-track activities like those provided by the gambling operator via the agreement.
Enhancing Experience for Racing Spectators
Unibet’s involvement in the event will boost the fan experience by adding some thrilling activities for spectators at the Exhibition Place. Starting off with the Unibet Finish Line Lounge which will be adjacent to the start-finish line, and would provide audiences with multi-level trackside views of the action. There will also be plenty of premium craft beers to choose from.
Second is the Unibet Victory Circle which will be a hotspot during the 12-race festival. NASCAR Pinty’s Series stock car drivers will be recognized first on the winner’s stage after Friday’s the Tiffany Gate Grand Prix of Toronto. Then the Your Ontario Honda Dealers Present Honda Fan Friday will offer general admission with a voluntary donation to Make-A-Wish® Canada.
In the USF Pro 2000 Presented by Cooper Tires and USF2000 Presented by Cooper Tires development series, open-wheel racers will participate in doubleheader races in their quest for a top spot on the podium. Moreover, during the Honda Indy Toronto weekend, NTT INDYCAR SERIES drivers will be awarded Waterford Crystal trophies, generously provided by William Ashley, in the Unibet Victory Circle after Sunday’s 85-lap main event finale.
At the time of the press, there were 2-day general admission tickets still available at CA$75 which present be the best value for money. There are also single-day general admission tickets for CA$50 for Saturday and CA$60 for Sunday. Also, Thunder Alley will be filled with numerous activities and interactive displays including Honda World, and many diverse food options.
Licensed to Join Ontario
It should be mentioned that Unibet is an official member of the online gambling market for private operators in Ontario. In March 2022, the brand was licensed by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario to offer legal digital casino and sportsbook services in the province. Hence, gaining access to one of the most competitive jurisdictions for iGaming in North America.
However, a few months later its activity in the province was plagued by a fine imposed by AGCO. The regular issued a fine worth CA$48,000 to the operator for breaching Registrar’s Standards for Internet Gaming. This was in relation to publishing and broadcasting ads stating that it offers generous welcome offers which is allowed but only under certain conditions.
