Casinos Remain Closed

After its announcement about the closure of its gaming floors across Ontario, Gateway Casinos issued a new statement revealing a bit more about the situation. On Monday, the company reported that it has suffered a cyber-attack causing system-wide malfunction. Meanwhile, it has hired third-party cyber professionals to resolve the issue and bring operations back to normal.

In addition to that, in its latest statement the gambling leader also elaborated that currently, it is not aware that the incident has compromised personal data. But if it is determined to be the case, it will warn players. The company said that casino floors are expected to remain closed for a few days and it did not provide an exact reopening date for its gambling activities.

Currently, the casino leader operates numerous gaming amenities across Ontario, including one in Sault Ste. Marie, Sudbury, Thunder Bay, North Bay, Clinton, Chatham, London, Woodstock, Wasaga Beach, Sarnia, and others. The halt in gaming operations also affected Casino Rama in Orillia. Restarting My Club Rewards and More

At the start of April 2023, Gateway Casinos announced that it has renewed its My Club Rewards royalty program for its Ontario properties. Via the updated program, its patrons can now play and earn points at the operator’s casino and redeem them in exchange for premium rewards at Casino Rama, such as hotel stays, spa retreats, concerts, and other options.

The new and improved version of the MCR program is a gateway to the “Reward Life” which is a fully connected ecosystem of benefits and rewards that allows members to go bigger, and live better, in her words. There are five tiers – rewards, silver, gold, elite and ultra. Members of the program can enjoy the benefits of their tier such as discount food at the company’s restaurants.

It should be also mentioned that the company takes great pride in supporting local non-profit and charity organizations. An example of that is a donation from December 2022 to the Victoria Hospital in London, Ontario. Via the CA$30,000 contribution, the hospital will be able to fund its Creative-Art Based Therapies in the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Care Program.
