Betsafe Makes Long-Awaited Debut in Ontario

Just last week, another leading operator brand made its entry into Ontario’s regulated iGaming market. On Friday, Betsson Group announced that it has gotten its hands on operator and supplier licenses in the province. This marked the official launch of its renowned B2C brand Betsafe in the online market and made it available for locals to enjoy.

Ontario’s market is the first of its nature in Canada and it officially kicked off operations on April 4, 2022. Since then, the province has licensed over 50 online betting operators with more expected to join. It is overseen by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario and its subsidiary iGaming Ontario which keep a close look at the local iGaming landscape.

Now Available to Bettors

For its debut in Ontario, Betsafe has localized its content for local gamblers and sports betting enthusiasts, as its platform features both of them online. The two verticals are available via the Strive Gaming platform, which is partially owned by Betsson. Meanwhile, its supplier license also allows Betsson to offer its sportsbook to other locally licensed entities.

Upon logging in, players will have plenty of iGaming options to choose from varying from a broad collection of online slots, blackjack, roulette, other variations, live casino games, and exciting jackpots. Meanwhile, its sportsbook is available at https://7sport.net/ca/betsafe/ and offers wagers on all kinds of sports, including fan favourites such as football, basketball, hockey, and even more.

Ontarians are now also able to use Betsafe’s content via its official mobile apps, which can be found on Apple and Google Play stores, or the website. Its app and platform impress with convenient payment methods for quick and safe transactions. The operator is licensed by the Malta Gaming Authority and has plenty of experience behind it becoming a leading brand in the market.

As a regulated operator, the brand recognizes the province’s potential with over 38 million residents, as the most important market for the country’s economy. It also projects that the Ontarian market will quickly take a top spot among its North American counterparts, while also being committed to meeting the highest standards of safety and quality in iGaming.

Latest from Ontario

Last week, AGCO informed that it has resolved a responsible-gambling program loophole which bettors may have taken advantage of. In order to solve the issue, the regulator has updated the rules to clarify the voiding and refunding of wagers for self-excluded users. It also requires operators to only fully refund a bet if a player enrolls with a self-exclusion program before the start of the event.

In the meantime, more and more operators are preparing for their Ontario debut. In February, gambling brand Betty announced that it has acquired over US$5 million from a suite of investors. With the money, the operator will fund its operations in the province, and it was collected from a group of investors led by Karlani Capital.
