Gateway Casinos Continue Portfolio Expansion With Rama Casino and OLG Slots Addition

A Casino Operating and Service Agreement (COSA) for a period of 23 years has been inked between Gateway Casinos & Entertainment Limited and the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG).

Under the terms of the deal, the Central Gaming Bundle’s assets have been acquired by Gateway Casinos, with the gambling operator also entering into lease contracts for Casino Rama Resorts situated on Chippewas of Rama First Nation’s Lands and also for OLG Slots at Innisfil-based Georgian Downs.

As revealed in a press release, the casino and gambling operator took over the two sites’ operations effective July 18th as part of its expansion strategy. Apart from that, the construction process of a new gambling venue project that is to be situated иn the Wasaga beach/Collingwood area would also to be allowed under the inked agreement.

Despite the fact that the growth strategy of Gateway Casinos is primarily aimed at significantly improving the customer experience, the gambling operator has already started a process of redevelopment and investment in new properties in the region of Ontario. Currently, in Point Edward, the company is investing a total of CA$26 million to revamp the facility into Starlight Casino Point Edward. Apart from that, the Gateway Casinos broke grown on its new Chatham-based Cascades Casino project, which has been estimated at CA$36 million and is expected to create new jobs for up to 200 people.

The Chairman of Gateway Casinos, Gabriel de Alba, explained that Gateway Casinos was making reinvestments in local communities and establishing a large number of new jobs by introducing its gambling and entertainment services in Ontario and Western Canada. Mr. de Alba also described the Central Gaming Bundle’s takeover as the next major step in the company’s expansion strategy and shared that it enhanced the offerings of the brand in Ontario.

Considering the fact that the gambling operator has been carrying out a successful growth strategy, the addition of OLG Slots at Georgian Downs and Casino Rama Resort is expected to provide an excellent contribution to Gateway Casinos’ portfolio. Thanks to the strong brand presence in the Ontario market, Casino Rama Resort and OLG Slots would help the company provide its customers with a large variety of gaming, entertainment and dining experiences.

Being the large-scale casino and entertainment resort it is, Casino Rama Resort features an entertainment center with 5,000 seats, a 289-room hotel, a variety of restaurant and dining options, a gaming floor as well as VIP gaming options. A couple of weeks ago, the Ontario Court ruled that Casino Rama property which has been facing a class-action lawsuit would have to hand over a computer forensics investigation report following a breach in its computer system in 2016.
