Anthony Ruberto Leads the 9 Finalists at 2018 partypoker LIVE MILLIONS North America Main Event

Day 4 of the CA$10 Million GTD Main Event during 2018 partypoker LIVE MILLIONS North America ended Tuesday evening after 12 gruelling hours of poker, hundreds of hands being dealt, and more than 40 eliminated players. Anthony Ruberto from the United States led the nine finalists into Day 5 on Wednesday with a massive stack of over 400 million.

The MILLIONS North America Main Event by partypoker LIVE, which started April 24 at the Playground Poker Club in Montreal, will be crowning its champion on Wednesday. The player who manages to survive until the end and grab the title will also win the huge first place prize of CA$1,400,000. The second and third runners will also take home nice cash prizes of at least $1 million. With $10 million in guarantees and an entry fee of $5,300, this is the most exciting tournament during the festival and action at the final table starts within a couple of hours.

The 12-hour Day 4 kicked off at noon with 51 players returning to the tables and soon, some of the short stacks were easily eliminated. Among those hitting the rail were plenty of poker pros, including Antonio Esfandiari and Ludovic Gielich who were eliminated not long after the first hands were dealt. Other big names that did not make it to the final table were Team Online Pro Renato Nomura, partypoker Sponsored Pro Richard Dubini, Kevin Rivest, Ema Zajmovic, Marvin Rettenmaier, and Marc-Andre Ladouceur. Daniel Strelitz from the United States busted in 10th place, losing the attractive seat at the final table but banking a great prize of $110,000.

With 409,000,000 in chips, Anthony Ruberto (US) will be the chip leader at the final table on Wednesday, followed closely by his countryman Taylor Black who holds 406,000,000. Next in the chip count are Canada’s Tommy Nguyen (327,000,000) and George Lagos (220,000,000), Markus Prinz from Germany (212,000,000), and Darryll Fish from the US (152,500,000). The rest of the finalists are also from Canada – Guillaume Nolet (110,000,000), Demosthenes Kiriopoulos (74,000,000), and Charles La Boissonniere (45,000,000). Along with the three millionaires that are to be crowned today, partypoker LIVE has prepared great-looking consolation prizes for all those who survived to play at the final table. They will take home minimum cash of $150,000.

There are several other exciting events that are taking place alongside the Main Event during the 2018 partypoker LIVE MILLIONS North America festival. Two other tournaments will be played on Wednesday – the $1,000 Turbo and the $10,000 Finale events, each of which offers a guaranteed prize pool of $1 million. While the finals of the Main Event and the Turbo tournament kick off at 12:00 pm ET, the final Day 3 of the Finale event starts at 1:00 pm ET.

The Finale drew a strong field of 126 entrants who contributed to its total prize pool of $1,260,000. Among them were notable names such as Martin Jacobson, Kristen Bicknell, Roberto Romanello, Darren Elias, and many more. Only 18 players will be returning to the felt today, including Day 2 chip leader Philippe D’auteuil (11,250,000) and Day 3 leader Chance Kornuth (14,960,000). Among the rest who will be competing for the trophy and lion share of the prize pool are Jonathan Vanfleet, Timothy Reilly, Philippe D’auteuil, Anatoly Filatov, Jonathan Duhamel, and Victor Ramdin.
