World Poker Tour Returns to Canada in February

World Poker Tour has been a main component in the poker tournament industry and a frontrunner of the televised poker era. The prestigious brand has been a driving wheel in the poker boom. Over the years, WPT did not stop to surprise the poker fans, offering people from all walks of life to demonstrate poker skills and boost their bankrolls. For yet another year, World Poker Tour is heading to one of the largest gambling venues in Canada, and more precisely Fallsview Casino Resort for a C$5,000 Main Event. The gaming resort facility is often touted as the crown jewel in Ontario. Last year, casino officials unveiled a C$7 million revamp project, enhancing the glamorous atmosphere of the gambling property. The gambling venue offers more than 3,000 slot machines and 100 table games, which makes it the perfect place for hosting such a prestigious festival.

The event is expected to be more than successful as poker is a favorite pastime among the Canadians, who proved to be fearsome players at the poker felt. The three-day tournament will run from 10th to 12th February. Players will be vying to win the grand prize and walk away with top honors.

Players who prefer to save on the C$5,000 Main Event buy-in can compete in the qualifiers. They will have the chance to climb their way towards a seat to the Main Event. Satellites will be played at Casino Niagara until 2nd February. Afterwards, the satellites will be moved to the Grand Hall at Fallsview until the end of the Festival. On 7th February, the C$2,500 Super Satellite is set to begin. On 9th February, the $5,000 Super Satellite is to kick off with a bang.

In addition to the Main Event, there will be two other side events on the schedule, including the C$1,100 Event # 1 and C$2,500 Event # 2. The first event is to kick off on 5th February and it is to run all the way through 8th February. The second event is scheduled to commence on 8th February and the players will compete for one final day on 10th February. It is important to note that re-entries are available in the C$1,100 Event, but only if the player re-enters the next starting flight/day. The sponsors of the event announced that there will be a single re-entry option in the C$2,500 and C$5,000 events.
